@KagutaMuseveni@NRMOnline I pledge my continued loyalty, dedication, and commitment to serve with diligence in this new role.
Finally, I thank my party NRM and the fraternal family of PLU for all the support.
I sincerely thank H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni for the opportunity to serve my country and the @NRMOnline party as Government Chief Whip from 2022 to 2026.
I am also deeply grateful for the trust placed in me through the new assignment as Senior Presidential Advisor.
Congratulations, Your Excellency President Museveni, on your swearing-in for a new term. May your leadership continue to bring peace and prosperity to Uganda.
This morning, I received Kenya’s Deputy President, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, upon his arrival in Uganda ahead of President Yoweri Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony at Kololo Independent Grounds.
The Deputy President’s attendance reflects the strong and cordial bilateral relations between Uganda and Kenya.
Yesterday, I joined H.E. Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Rose Epel Alupo at the Serena Hotel for the launch of 𝑴𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑴𝒛𝒆𝒆 (H.E. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni), a remarkable pictorial publication by presidential photographer Abu Mwesigwa.
The book is a powerful visual journey that captures defining moments of H.E. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni through carefully documented photographs taken at national events, campaigns, state conferences, and official engagements over the years.
Beyond preserving history, this publication stands as an inspiration to photographers across Uganda. It demonstrates the power of photography in documenting leadership, national transformation, and the moments that shape a country’s story.
Abu Mwesigwa’s work is a reminder that photography is not merely about taking pictures, but about telling stories, preserving memories, and creating a legacy for future generations.
I commend Abu Mwesigwa for this outstanding contribution to Uganda’s historical and creative landscape. May this work encourage upcoming photographers to embrace professionalism, creativity, patience, and dedication as they continue to grow the arts and media industry in our country.
Today, I had a productive review meeting with members of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus and commended their commitment to strengthening coordination, legislative efficiency, and service delivery during a review meeting for the Executive Committee and Regional/Zonal Whips of the NRM Parliamentary Caucus.
Unity, teamwork, and strategic leadership are pivotal in advancing Government programmes and ensuring effective representation of wananchi in Parliament.
I noted that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Government remains committed to enacting progressive legislation aimed at improving livelihoods, strengthening institutions, and accelerating Uganda’s socio economic transformation.
Several reforms have been undertaken by Government, including those in the coffee sector, were intended to improve efficiency and enhance service delivery to citizens. Our reforms are always guided by the national interest and the desire to create stronger systems that better serve Ugandans.
Regional and zonal whips play important roles in mobilizing support for Government business in Parliament and maintaining cohesion within the Caucus.
There is need for continuous stakeholder engagement and effective communication to help the public better appreciate the intentions and benefits of key Government policies and legislation.
On legislative matters, referenced recent laws and Bills debated by Parliament, including the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (Amendment) Bill, 2025 and the Protection of Sovereignty Bill, 2026, are aimed at strengthening national security, protecting constitutional order, and safeguarding Uganda’s sovereignty.
I applauded members of the Executive Committee and the institution of Parliament for the positive cooperation that enabled legislative successes.
The review meeting provided an opportunity for leaders within the Caucus to reflect on achievements, discuss emerging priorities, and strengthen strategies for improved legislative coordination and national service delivery.
This morning, I joined the Rt. Hon. @Thomas_Tayebwa, colleagues and thousands of runners to participate in Gen. @mkainerugaba’s 52nd Birthday Run held under the theme “RUN FOR HOPE.”
This initiative importantly promotes unity, patriotism and healthy living to support causes that positively impact our communities. It also demonstrates the power of collective action in inspiring hope and strengthening national solidarity.
For us in Northern Uganda, the theme “Run for Hope” carries profound meaning. Our region endured years of conflict, displacement, and hardship, but through resilience and determination, our people continue to rebuild and progress. Hope has remained the driving force behind our recovery and transformation, and it continues to inspire a brighter future for generations to come.
As we marked this special occasion, I extend warm birthday wishes to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. May he be blessed with good health, wisdom, and many more years of service to our nation.
Happy 52nd Birthday.
Today, I made a courtesy visit to the offices of the Patriotic League of Uganda, where I secured participation kits for the upcoming MK Birthday Run, dedicated to inspire hope among vulnerable communities while advancing fitness, and patriotism.
The theme: “Run for Hope”- deeply resonates with us in Northern Uganda. It reflects our journey from a history marked by conflict and hardship to a future built on resilience and renewal.
Every step in this run symbolizes our progress—from pain to healing, and from despair to opportunity. It is a reminder of how far we have come and a call to keep moving forward with unity, strength, and hope for generations to come.
Happy birthday my brother @mkainerugaba
This afternoon, I had the privilege to preside over the graduation ceremony of the Uganda Aviation Academy under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Captain Mike @mukulaa. I commend him for his dedication and visionary leadership in building an institution that is shaping a skilled and competent workforce for Uganda’s aviation industry.
The academy continues to play a vital role in equipping young Ugandans with specialized skills, contributing to national development, job creation, and strengthening our capacity in air transport and related services.
As government, we recognize and support such investments in human capital, especially in critical sectors like aviation that drive trade, tourism, and regional connectivity.
To the graduates, this achievement marks the beginning of a greater journey. Uphold the values of discipline, professionalism, and integrity. The aviation sector demands excellence and responsibility, go out and serve with dedication, prioritize safety, and be proud ambassadors of a capable and forward-looking Uganda.
This afternoon in the house, I joined the Rt. Hon. Speaker @AnitahAmong, the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker @Thomas_Tayebwa, and fellow Honourable Members of Parliament in a Special Sitting to pay our last respects to late Hon. Hellen Nakimuli.
Hon. Nakimuli was a true nationalist and patriot who served her country with dedication. Beyond her legislative role, she was a remarkable all-round sportswoman whose excellence spanned multiple disciplines, inspiring many both within and beyond the sporting fraternity.
Her passing is a great loss to Parliament, the people of Kalangala, and the nation at large. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
This morning, I joined the Rt. Hon. Speaker Anita Annet Among, the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, and fellow Honorable Members of Parliament to receive the body of our fallen colleague, Hon. Hellen Nakimuli, Woman Member of Parliament for Kalangala District.
It is always difficult to come to terms with the loss of a colleague and a friend. Moments like these remind us of the fragility of life and the deep bonds we share in service to our nation.
In Ecclesiastes 3:1–2, we are reminded that “there is a time for everything… a time to be born and a time to die.” Though her passing is painful, we take solace in the time she spent serving with dedication and passion.
Hon. Nakimuli will be remembered as a committed legislator who diligently represented her people, and as a vibrant figure in the sports fraternity whose energy and spirit inspired many. Her contribution to both Parliament and sports leaves a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.
As a nation, we mourn the loss of a great leader. She will be deeply missed by her family, the people of Kalangala, Parliament, and Uganda at large.
