To health educators & promoters, epidemiogists, nutritionists & all health professionals, I am really worried. And you too should be.
Why? The battle against non- Communicable diseases is far from being won.
The dominant but mistaken thinking that being heavy, overweight & obese= being healthy and on the other hand being slim & small-framed = being unhealthy is a serious cause for alarm. To the contrary, a lean body= a strong one ๐ช. Is this hard to understand?
Weight loss can only be worrying if it's unintentional, unexplainable, and most times due to malnutrition or an involuntary matabolic syndrome associated with underlying chronic sickness. BUT if weight loss is intentional & achieved through measures such asย dietingย orย slimming that involve reducing one's total body mass through calorie reduction, increased physical activity, or lifestyle changes its nothing else BUT an act to celebrate. It is one of the best health targets/outcomes every rational & disciplined person should set and aim to achieve.
Yes, looking lean or slim may worry some that may not be used with a person's new looks, BUT it is all ok.
Obesity has never been a badge of honor!
So dear friends sending me messages of "quick recovery"( and especially those of you doing so out of love, not mockery), please take heart , I am not sick. My new looks are intentional.
Its well with me & I thank God for all his blessings and mostly the gift of life!
Otherwise,Greetings from NALI, our Political MECCA!
Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, following a scientific assessment by our CBRN team, I have written to Matongo Wood Works Company confirming that traditional wooden food containers made from omunyama (mahogany) and omusisa (albizia) are safe and durable. I have directed support for this initiative so that we free ourselves from the colonial habit of relying on fragile and unsafe ebyatika (the breakables).
Our indigenous knowledge systems served our people well for generations. It is time to consciously revive and promote them as part of building a self-reliant and modern Ugandan economy.

Construction of the Akii-Bua Olympic Stadium in Lira City has reached the roofing stage, with project managers confirming that about 95 percent of physical works are complete.
The 20,000-seat multi-sport complex, being built by Egyptโs SAMCO National Construction Company, began in January 2024. Named after Olympic champion John Akii-Bua, the stadium honors his historic 400m hurdles gold medal at the 1972 Munich Games.
Project Manager Mohamed Nazir said current works include roofing installation, tiling, and interior finishing, alongside construction of a playersโ hostel, clubhouse, and a 25-meter semi-Olympic swimming pool. He assured the public the project remains on schedule.
Resident City Commissioner Lawrence Egole dismissed concerns about delays, stating that government funding is secure. He urged local investors to upgrade hospitality facilities ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which Uganda will co-host with Kenya and Tanzania.
The 18.5-hectare complex will feature an eight-lane athletics track, a main football pitch, a 2,000-seat indoor arena, outdoor courts, and parking for 1,000 vehicles. If completed by late 2026 or early 2027, it will be Northern Ugandaโs first venue to host AFCON matches.
