Today we walked with our Union farmers—hands in the soil, hearts in shared purpose. From vegetables to poultry and dairy, every household is building not alone, but as part of a system.
This is grassroots industrialization in action—turning farms into engines of household income.
@ObuntuHub@UGCommonwealth@NKaliisa The Union members would be blessed to receive this kindness as we set up our famers'union administration office and meeting place in Busamira Upper Cell, Namagumba Ward, Northern Division, Mbale City. Thank @UGCommonwealth for the link up.
During the workshop, hon. @FrankTumwebazek noted "as Phase III of the @FAO–China–Uganda SSC Project concludes, project innovations will be mainstreamed, successful technologies scaled up, public-private partnerships strengthened & farmers empowered to ensure sustainability."
President @KagutaMuseveni has consistently championed the 4-acre model, encouraging citizens to embrace meaningful agriculture on a commercial scale.
Recently, a friend of mine who works closely with him hosted me in Busoga and gave me a tour of his farm.

Today, during the launch of the 2025 State of Uganda's Population Report, under the theme: “Mental Health: A Silent Emergency.”
Our Executive Board Chairperson @pamdebams emphasised that Mental health is no longer peripheral. It is central to Uganda’s development trajectory.
"There remains a clear mismatch between mental health need and investment, we must shift from viewing mental health as a social expenditure to recognising it as a strategic investment in economic growth."
She encouraged the @MinofHealthUG, @mofpedU, #Developmentpartners, #CivilSociety, #Privatesector, #Media, #Religiousleaders, among others to continue working with the National Planning Authority(#NPA) to translate evidence into policy, programmes and investment.
