BREAKING 🇵🇸🇮🇱 Under pressure from the #NoHarbourForGenocide campaign, the Overseas Santorini — a US oil tanker carrying jet fuel for Israel's assault on Gaza — will NOT dock in Spain.
It is now due to reach Gibraltar 🇬🇮 on 30 July. The fight continues.
We, the People of India
vs.
Government of India
Earlier today, several concerned citizens and civil society organisations came together to release a Chargesheet against the Government of India for subversion of our Parliamentary democracy.
In the chargesheet, 8 charges are levelled against the Govt and evidence substantiating the same have been provided. This chargesheet is a list of 'wrong examples' which will unfortunately set 'bad precedents' for future government's to follow and ultimately people will continue to suffer.
Please find the chargesheet here, inform yourself and others and demand accountability from your representatives and the government - https://t.co/fBFgFTTt24
🧵 Reasons why Muslims flock to Juhu Beach:
1. There are no parks in Muslim neighbourhoods.
2. There are no proper roads in Muslim neighbourhoods.
3. There is no proper sanitation in Muslim neighbourhoods.
4. There are no schools in Muslim neighbourhoods.
5. Muslim neighbourhoods are not cleaned on a regular basis.
6. No money is allocated to Muslim neighbourhoods for infrastructure development.
7. Muslim neighbourhoods lack adequate water and electricity supply.
8. There is lack of proper water drainage system in Muslim neighbourhoods.
9. Muslim neighbourhoods have a much higher population density than the rest of the city.
10. Through systemic, social, and political opression, Muslims are forced into one neighbourhood so that the government can make policies that ignore these areas.
11. Muslim neighbourhoods are gerrymandered so that the Muslim vote has no political clout. As a result, no development occurs.
12. Muslim neighbourhoods are always ruled with an iron fist by police, leading to further persecution and oppression.
13. Government educational and developmental schemes never reah Muslims because these areas are already earmarked by the government, by both secular and communal parties in India. (Another reason why Muslim are pushed into one area)
14. Banks and financial institutions mark Muslim neighbourhoods (With the help of governments) in such a way that loans and credit are impossible to obtain.
15. There is almost no affirmative action in Muslims and Muslim neighbourhoods.
16. In Muslim neighbourhoods, there is only one government office; can you guess what it is? It is a police station or a thana. To oppress and control Muslims.
I have 50 more macro to micro persecutions of Indian Muslims to go. But let us return to the reason why Muslims flock to Juhu Beach.
Because Muslims have nowhere else to go!
Muslims live in densely populated areas with little sunlight (due to government policy), no parks or places to hang out (due to government policy), no open spaces (due to government policy), and no infrastructure (due to government policy).
It is past time for an open discussion about India's systemic oppression of Muslims through policy and administration.
Kanishka is an average Sanghi who has never finished a book in her life, so ignore her, but be thankful that her ignorance has provided us with an opportunity to discuss actual oppression.
Last week, Ana Maria was attacked as she left her job as a night cleaner at @cityunilondon.
After she and 20 other cleaners signed a collective grievance against their employer, one of them was sacked, another disciplined, and Ana Maria was assaulted by the manager’s son.

*Latest*: Inside pro-BJP WhatsApp groups, the Israel-Hamas war has been weaponised to target Indian Muslims, the Congress while mock Palestinian sufferings.
From warning that "hundreds of Gaza Strips" within India could launch an Islamist attack on Hindus, the messaging within these groups asks Hindus to arm themselves and insists that PM Modi was the only one who could save them. I write for @thewire_in

Good morning. THIS is the biggest thing in a while. Bihar has released caste survey figures. The first census data of *all* castes in a state since 1931. Data confirms what anti-caste scholars and politicians have been saying for a while: UCs only 15% of population. Bahujans 85%

@InSeasonFish Can one follow the journey on social media or can it be read elsewhere in more depth? Curious to know more about this and also to learn the shifts that have been taking place, both with mechanisation and related species and market shifts.
Jai Bhim everyone,

A #thread on a potential disaster unfolding in Mumbai right now. Millions of small plastic nurdles have been washing ashore along the high-tide line since Sunday morning. So far they've been seen at Aksa, Versova and Juhu beaches.

"70 lakh Indians are as rich as the richest people in the first world, while over 70 crore Indians are poorer than the poorest people in the Third World."
Significant intervention by @AunindyoC to show that our inequality is immense, not just internally but in global absolutes.
Since the beginning of the revolt for Nahel, executed by the French police, international media have trouble understanding the situation.
Here are some elements for a critical analysis, based on my research into police oppression of working-class neighborhoods ⬇️
Have recently seen a Podcaster/Youtuber interview several Cabinet Ministers in the Union Government. This piqued my interest and I found that in the description, the phrase, "Co-presented to you by @MyGovIndia".
As I regularly check government websites (one of my many weird habits), I started to wonder if this was pursuant to a tender dated 07.03.2023 titled, "Request for Empanelment (RFE) for Selection of Influencer Marketing Agencies for Empanelment with MyGov" (link at the bottom).
If yes, then, is it proper for money from the public exchequer to fund influencer interactions with senior government functionaries? Are audiences properly informed with existing disclosures that such interactions are not press interviews but paid promotions?
