During their visit to Sri Lanka the Calthorpe Park School staff visited the Ocean Stars Lanka office - the hub of our operations in Sri Lanka. The UK team commented on how valuable it was to see our office and understand how the organisation operates on a daily basis ⭐

The 3 members of staff from Calthorpe were welcomed warmly by the staff and students of Navalady school who had missed their UK visitors for 3 years. It was an amazing day for everyone! The visit was reported on the local tv news:

Students and teachers from 5 schools in Batticaloa met up with teachers from Calthorpe Park school this evening. This week, the UK teachers will be visiting each link school and will spend the day doing art, craft, dance and musical activities.

Ocean Stars Trust are currently funding 14 feeding programmes in 14 preschools. An incredible impact on the welfare of the children and very grateful parents. Many thanks to Dilini Seneviratne and Narthana 2022 and Fonthill Foundation for funding this programme.

The Ocean Stars Trustees held their annual Away Day recently. The Trustees were all relieved that, in spite of the funding restrictions and difficulties faced during the pandemic, our work empowering children through education continues to offer relief to hundreds of families.

Today is Saraswathi Pooja day and our Ocean Stars Lanka preschools spent the day celebrating this Hindu festival in honour of the God of education.
The children dressed in traditional clothes and had a special meal as well as honouring God Saraswathi with flowers.

Ocean Stars Trust is delighted to be invited to Calthorpe Park School Fleet Open Evening. Our link with Calthorpe has been going for nine years. Over 120 students have visited Sri Lanka and the school has raised over £70,000 for the work of Ocean Stars Trust!
