All-NBA center Jalen Duren is not attending Detroit Pistons media day Monday nor the start of training camp, declining the team’s five-year, $200 million fully guaranteed offer in restricted free agency so far, sources tell ESPN. The sides remain at a stalemate ahead of Thursday deadline on a one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer.
If the Bucks get punished for this, I can’t wait for the Warriors to be punished next for Draymond opting out to free up cap to possibly sign LeBron only for him to re-sign for the same amount after they didn’t get LeBron and that deal being way above market value
This is absurd on its face. The Bucks MAY have promised to pay GTJ in a year if he takes a low money offer now.
The Clippers funneled money through other businesses to pay Kawhi. This is apples and fraudulent oranges.
I’d never watch the NBA again if the Bucks are penalized for paying a player too much money within the salary cap while the Clippers paid a player under the table and actually circumvented the cap entirely.
The Milwaukee Bucks have serious interest in Jalen Duren, per @sam_amick
“Still, Duren’s confidence is born out of the fact that his market for next summer looks quite robust. As The Athletic previously reported, the Sacramento Kings have signaled a willingness to pay him a max-salary deal next summer. That alone has aided his leverage, but there are at least two other teams — including the Milwaukee Bucks — that are known to have serious interest in Duren (both now and, potentially, next summer).”

Just in: Detroit Pistons All-Defensive forward Ausar Thompson has reached agreement on a five-year, $155 million rookie-scale contract extension, sources tell ESPN.
