@AgeofAutism He was a good man and I hung the moon and the stars on him and the Autism research Institute in the early 90's. I printed out reams of his papers and carried them in a folder trying to sway physicians and to warn other parents. All for nothing.
@Psion3301@MakeAStandOrg@RobertKennedyJr I care about you. I made it to 70, widowed, and still caring for my profoundly autistic daughter. Lonely and exhausted and terrified of the inevitable.
@and_kell@AgeofAutism Our journey started in 1996. I carried paper files with me everywhere to share with everyone and anyone and honestly, no one wanted to hear it. Most still don't.
@JulieBockey@MedicaidGov It resonates whenever you say no dying permitted. I am 70 and my daughter with profound autism, IDD, is 32. I simply cannot die. I am her world and all she has.
@KTAsher5@alliesu41287802 I am going to purchase your book for the hope. I am a 70 year old widowed mother caregiving my 32 year old severely impaired autistic and ID child. My heart is breaking reading the heartless misguided posts today while living the truth.
@JillEscher@HHSGov Thank you for your excellent post. I am 70 caring for my 32 year old autistic child with ID and I am scared out of my mind for her future. So many comments and posts today are heartless and clueless. I am hoping for maybe caregiving robots to be a thing.
@FluffyDogAttack Aunt Jo in Oregon reads you every single day via bookmark. Your strength & resilience keep me strong as I continue to do the right thing for myself & those in my care. Thank you so much.
