your phone number is personal and sometimes you want to connect without handing it over. that's why we're introducing usernames for WhatsApp.
starting this week, you can reserve a username to use later this year when we launch the feature. It takes just a few seconds, make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp and then go to Settings > Account > Username.
People romanticise this so much hehe.
Okay for movies, I’m onboard. But for music, cloud storage etc. It’s gonna cost you more monthly with a shittier experience to self host those.
You can put your photos on a NAS, maybe access it remotely via a VPN but it’ll need to always be online. HDDs always spinning, disks wearing out etc. You’ll also need backups and an extra backup of the backup.
You do the math and just pay for Google One happily.
Don’t get me wrong I like tinkering and this would be fun but it’s wrong to lie to yourself that you’re doing this to save money. Privacy would better argument.
We dont know how to drive in this country. You would leave a reasonable gap between you and the and the next person, someone would come from nowhere and "chook head."
"Chooking head" is not driving.
This bad habit reflects in our everyday life. That is why we dont know how to queue. You queue behind somebody giving reasonable gap between you and the next person so the person in front can have some personal space, someone would still want to fill in the gap or use their frontal to gum your bumbum. Absolute madness!

Me: They're over TLS 1.3.
InfoSec: Yes but I can read the JSON.
Me: Because your browser decrypted it. For you. On purpose.
InfoSec: Please encrypt the payload before sending over HTTPS.
Encrypt the encryption. #rant

Last year I posted 500 open positions for my company.
We hired 34 people.
The other 466 jobs were never real.
160,000 applicants gave us their career history for free.
We used it to benchmark compensation.
Not to raise salaries.
Here is a statistic that breaks my heart: Most men will receive their first bunch of flowers at their funeral.
We expect men to romance us, buy us gifts, and celebrate our existence, but we rarely reciprocate. Men go their entire lives without ever being celebrated just for existing. They are starved of beauty and gentleness until they are in a casket. It’s a cold life.
We need to do better
