Who organises a campaign rally at an airport, of all places?
Who authorised a political party to hold a campaign rally at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu?
Was it the police, Ministry of Aviation, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), or some other authority? Who gave the approval?
Or did some political desperados and governorship wannabes simply take the law into their own hands, turning an international airport into a campaign rally ground?
Dear Peter Obi and NDC,
Many of your candidates are not campaigning.
They are hoping on your popularity...
1) Abuja senatorial candidate is not campaigning

4) Igbo Etiti East and West State assemly candidates are not campaigning
5) Imo West senatorial candidate is not campaigning

NEW: Governor Mbah canvasses a nation that earns patriotism of the youth, makes ‘japa’ a choice
...As 2,101 corps members are sworn in in Enugu State
Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has charged Nigerians with collectively building a nation that earns the patriotism of young people, while also making migration a choice, not an escape route.
Mbah spoke in Awgu during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch C Stream of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to Enugu State.
He stressed that Nigeria’s extraordinary youth population could only become a demographic dividend if the nation creates the education, skills, jobs, enterprise and institutions that enable young Nigerians to convert their energy and talent into productivity and prosperity, hence the essence of the NYSC beyond experiencing other parts of Nigeria.
“We often ask young Nigerians to be patriotic. But let us ask ourselves a more difficult question: How do we earn the patriotism of our young people if they feel excluded from their country's promise?
“Patriotism must be cultivated by creating a country in which young people can see a future for themselves.
“We must provide quality education; create an enabling environment for enterprise; expand opportunities; make our institutions work.
“We must build a country where merit is rewarded, hard work has meaning and dreams do not have to be exported before they can become reality,” he said.
Mbah, however, urged the youth to never forget the demands patriotism makes of them, both in good and difficult times.
“Patriotism also demands something from you. It demands that, even when the country is imperfect, you refuse to give up on its possibilities; that you criticise what is wrong without abandoning what can be made right; that you do not merely ask: ‘What can Nigeria give me?’
“but also ask: ‘What can I give Nigeria?’
“Together, we can build a country where ‘japa’ is a choice, not an escape; where our young people can travel the world without feeling compelled to abandon home.
“If you are called upon to teach, teach as though Nigeria’s future were sitting before you – because it is. And when you encounter the difficulties, do not simply ask: ‘When will Nigeria change?’ Ask the more powerful question: ‘What can I do to change Nigeria?’ That is the question of citizenship,” he emphasised.
He assured them of their welfare, safety and comfort in Enugu State, reminding them that Enugu is a state rich in cosmopolitan history, and where every citizen could attain any height he or she is capable of.
“The Government of Enugu State will continue to work with the NYSC authorities to provide a conducive, secure and supportive environment for your service. We will pay particular attention to your welfare, safety and the conditions under which you discharge your responsibilities across the state.
“But, importantly, note that you are not strangers in Enugu. Our history offers remarkable testimony. When Enugu was elevated to municipal status in 1952, Mallam Umaru Altine, a Fulani man from Sokoto, became its first Mayor.
“It tells us that in Enugu, where you come from need not determine how far you can go; that belonging is not always about birthplace; that citizenship is also about contribution,” he assured them.
Speaking earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Oluwakemi Awolola, on behalf of the Director-General of the agency, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, said a total of 2,101 corps members had been registered under Batch C, and thanked Governor Mbah for improved welfare of Corps members and for making their environment conducive and safe.
“I am pleased to report that a total of 2,101 prospective corps members, comprising 983 males and 1,118 females, have been successfully registered for the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream/Orientation Course in Enugu State. Their level of cooperation, enthusiasm, and willingness to participate in camp activities have been commendable.
“We remain

*Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa Condemns Prosecution of Obuoffia Eyewitness, Accuses Peter Mbah APC Administration of Shielding Political Thugs*
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State under the leadership of our Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and Governorship Candidate, Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, strongly condemns the decision of the Enugu State Police Command to arraign and remand Mr. Ani Samuel Chidi, the NDC member who courageously filmed the violent attack on our ward meeting at Ihuani Awkunanaw, Obuoffia, on 12th September 2026.
While the suspected attackers and their sponsors remain free, the man who documented the crime is being prosecuted for cybercrime and criminal defamation. This is a clear case of justice turned upside down.
Section 39(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) guarantees that “every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas and information without interference.” Filming and exposing an attack on peaceful citizens cannot be a crime in a democratic society.
I ask Governor Peter Mbah directly: *What else has to happen in Nkanu land before you speak? You are an Nkanu man. Your kinsmen and women were shot at a peaceful political meeting in your own cultural zone. Eight of them sustained gunshot injuries. Yet, while the alleged perpetrators walk free, the eyewitness who recorded the attack is being remanded. Why the silence in the face of this political witch-hunt against your own people?*
Reacting to the development, Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa said:
“This is no longer just an attack on the NDC; it is an attack on truth, on justice, and on the people of Nkanu. When those who shoot innocent citizens are protected and the person who films the crime is punished, then we are in dangerous territory. *I will not keep quiet while my people are treated this way.* My administration will never weaponise the state against the people. We will protect every citizen’s right to speak the truth without fear.”
I demand the immediate release of Mr. Ani Samuel Chidi and the diligent prosecution of all those involved in the Obuoffia attack, regardless of their political connections. Justice delayed and justice denied only strengthens our resolve.
Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa and the NDC remain committed to the *MEGA agenda — Make Enugu Great Again —* where the rule of law is respected, and no one is above the law.

If Governor Peter Mbah’s Special Adviser on Political Matters is using the phrase “the person wey do pencil did the eraser” to warn political appointees, then Enugu people deserve to understand the message behind those words.
Is it a reminder of political responsibility, or a warning that those who fail to toe the expected political line could lose their positions?
Political appointments should not become instruments of fear, intimidation or enforced loyalty. Appointees are public servants entrusted with responsibilities to the people, not political captives expected to surrender their conscience.
That’s how the other day @DanNwomeh said no opposition but his Oga went and appointed more than 100 aides
That’s fear na
Cause that 100 aides were appointed just to fight the opposition
They hate APC but APC was voted for in 17 LGAs in Enugu but as a Yoruba Man and Lagosian to the Core that want to Vote Same APC here in Lagos is a Tribal Bigot…. Yoruba But Wake up nah your Tribe Man wey dey Power them Hate not the Party
Peter Mbah’s administration increasingly gives the impression of treating Enugu State like a personal enterprise, particularly with its approach to taxation and the growing concerns among businesses and investors.
Then comes the question: Why wasn’t the NDC part of the just-concluded local government elections?
The answer is simple: how do you expect genuine participation when the playing field is widely perceived as being controlled by the ruling establishment?
What we witnessed was less about a competitive election and more about a political selection process. When institutions, structures and state power appear heavily tilted in one direction, opposition participation becomes an entirely different conversation.
And as events unfold, some of those loudly defending the system today may eventually find themselves questioning the very choices they are making.
Politics is temporary. The people and the consequences of political decisions remain.
All this Enugu PDP members always saying NDC joined your structure first it was the governorship candidate Uche Nnaji now it’s the Enugu east senatorial candidate
Pls note that we will vote NDC top to bottom
We have competent candidates from our governorship candidate sir Chinyeaka Ohaa to the Enugu east senatorial candidates princesses Ada Ogbu
So we will be OK
NDC South-East Zonal Youth Wing held a Press Conference and Mega Rally in Enugu, where it announced its endorsement of Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa for Governor of Enugu State, alongside other NDC candidates in the state.
The event brought together NDC youths and stakeholders for discussions around the 2027 elections and the party’s activities across Enugu State.
A major youth engagement as the party continues its preparations for the 2027 general elections.

A Sacred Moment of Heritage, Trust and Leadership
Yesterday, I had the profound honour of receiving the sacred Ofo from the people of Awkunanaw Clan at Ani Awkunanaw, Obuoffia.
Representatives and traditional custodians from the eight communities of Awkunanaw Obuoffia, Akegbe-Ugwu, Amechi, Amodu, Umueze, Obeagu, Akwuke and Ugwuaji gathered in a solemn ceremony rooted in our ancestral heritage and traditions.
The Ofo is more than a symbol. In our Igbo tradition, it represents truth, justice, authority, responsibility and a covenant to serve the people.
Receiving it was therefore not something I took lightly. I received it with humility and a deep sense of responsibility. It is a reminder that leadership is not about personal ambition; it is about service, sacrifice, protection of the people and the preservation of our values.
I am deeply grateful to the elders, traditional custodians, leaders, sons and daughters of Awkunanaw for this profound gesture of trust and goodwill.
As we look toward 2027, I remain committed to a vision of an Enugu State where leadership is people-centred, development is inclusive, and every community has a voice and a stake in our collective progress.
Yesterday was more than a ceremony. It was a moment of heritage, memory and renewed commitment to the people.
I carry the Ofo with humility.
I carry the trust with responsibility.
And I carry the hopes of our people with unwavering determination.
Awkunanaw has spoken. I have heard. And I am ready to serve.

Correction for Enugu State!
Spotlight: Chief Chinyeaka Ohaa
He is the NDC governorship candidate for Enugu State in the 2027 election.
Ohaa is a former Accountant-General of Enugu State and a retired Federal Permanent Secretary.
His public-service career has included work in several federal ministries, including Power and the FCT Administration.
He also previously served as Chairman of the Governing Council of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), resigning from the position in February 2026.
His professional background is particularly rooted in public finance, administration, budgeting and government project implementation.
There was a dispute over the NDC ticket, but Prof. James Ene-Nwannaji withdrew his court challenge in September and declared his support for Ohaa, clearing the way for the party to consolidate around him.
Enugu, this is Chief Chinyeaka Ohaa.
Know the candidate.
Study the record.
Examine the plans.
Ask the hard questions.

*Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa Condemns the Arbitrary Suspension of Igwe Willy Ezugwu as Political Witch-Hunt and an Assault on Traditional Institution.*
The recent decision by the Enugu State Government to suspend His Royal Highness, Igwe Willy Ezeugwu, the traditional ruler of Ibagwa Opi Ogbozalla Autonomous Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, represents a deeply troubling encroachment on traditional institutions, human rights, and constitutional freedoms.
Igwe Ezeugwu was reportedly targeted and suspended following his exercise of basic hospitality—specifically, for hosting NDC Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and subsequently hosting Chief Chinyeaka Ohaa, the Enugu State NDC Governorship candidate, *who visited to commiserate with the Igwe and his Community folk over the recent kidnap, and subsequent death, of some of the kidnap victims from his kingdom, the painful prize of the poor security architecture foisted on Ndi Enugu under the misgovernance of Governor Peter Mbah.* Such punitive action against a traditional ruler for receiving high-profile Nigerians on sympathy visit, in his private capacity or as a custodian of his community’s cultural open-door policy is both autocratic and unnecessary.
*Key Issues and Concern*
(1) Erosion of Royal Dignity: Traditional rulers are the custodians of culture, peace, and community cohesion. Forcing monarchs to seek state approval before receiving guests, regardless of political affiliation, degrades the revered status of royal institutions and reduces traditional fathers to political appendages of the state executive.
(2) Violation of Constitutional Rights: Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) guarantees every citizen the right to peaceful assembly and association. Penalizing a traditional ruler for associating with public figures violates fundamental constitutional freedoms.
(3) Politicization of Culture: Local governance thrives when royal fathers remain non-partisan intermediaries who can welcome all citizens, political figures, and stakeholders. Weaponizing administrative suspensions against monarchs creates an atmosphere of fear, division, and political intimidation across local communities.
(4) Bad Precedent for Local Governance: Using chieftaincy laws to enforce political conformity undermines democratic tolerance and damages the working relationship between local communities and the state government.
*Call to Action*
We call on the Governor of Enugu State to immediately reverse the suspension of Igwe Willy Ezeugwu without demanding politicized conditions. Furthermore, we urge the state government to respect the autonomy, dignity, and neutrality of traditional institutions across Enugu State, ensuring that traditional rulers remain free to foster unity, peaceful engagement, and hospitality within their domains.
Signed
Hon. Sampson Ukwu.

MEET SIR CHINYЕAKA OHAA (ODALIJE)
My Dear People of Enugu State,
There are times when we need to pause and ask ourselves a simple question: Who are the people presenting themselves to lead us, and what have they done before asking for our trust?
Today, I want to introduce you to one of those men.
His name is Sir Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa, popularly known as Odalije, the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State.
For many people, politics begins when an election is approaching. But for Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, his story of service started many years before this political journey.
He is a man who has spent a significant part of his career in public service, rising through the system and taking on responsibilities at both the state and federal levels.
He served as the Accountant-General of Enugu State, where he was entrusted with responsibilities relating to the financial administration of the state.
From there, his career took him to the federal level, where he served in various capacities and eventually became a Federal Permanent Secretary.
As a Permanent Secretary, he served in different federal ministries, including Defence, Water Resources, the Federal Capital Territory, Power, and Youth and Sports.
These are not positions that come without responsibility.
They require experience in administration, policy implementation, budgeting, management and coordination of government institutions.
His experience also extended to the education sector. In 2024, he became the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), where he participated in the governance and administration of the institution.
And beyond government offices, there is also another side to Odalije that is important which is his connection with people and communities.
Those who have followed his activities over the years have seen his involvement in community interventions and support for people in need.
Now, after decades of public service, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa has chosen to step into another form of service seeking to lead Enugu State.
That is why, when we talk about Odalije, the conversation should not start and end with politics.
It should also be about his background, experience, public service record and the ideas he is bringing to the table.
Of course, no candidate should be judged simply by titles held in the past. The people of Enugu deserve to listen to every candidate, examine their records, understand their plans and make their own informed choice.
But if you are asking, “Who is Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa?”
This is the man.
A former Accountant-General of Enugu State.
A former Federal Permanent Secretary.
A former Pro-Chancellor of ESUT.
A public servant with decades of administrative experience.
And today, the NDC governorship candidate for Enugu State.
He is popularly known as Odalije.
And as the political season unfolds, Ndi Enugu will have the opportunity to hear directly from him about the kind of Enugu he hopes to build and the plans he has for the people.
This is the story of Sir Chinyeaka Oha
