@borealvarg I have used a lot of time, energy and recources to protect her+kids in the case that i disappear for some reason. And I have chosen to leave my back wide open to her. If she stabs me in the back(for some reason) then at least i tried to live my ideals.
@borealvarg One problem is that most trad are ✝️, who romanticize the US 50s . Me and the wife are sort of trad, but its more norse trad & not 👆🏻. The symbolism of having a joint economy f.ex is worth a lot. Once everything is "your things and my things" a relationship can start to crack.
@Draugkongen@JotunOutdoors Maybe some say this in the south & west, most are not even culturally ✝️. I agree with @JotunOutdoors here. ✝️ never really got a true hold on people here. The norse were ✝️ at the top, but outside of the cities folk faith has kept a lot of the spirit alive. It's changed though.
@JotunOutdoors Of course. It's just that when i need to shorten what I write nuance gets lost. When I write warrior I mean it in both actual warrior and in other ways, as you describe and e.g. carriers of the torch of our traditions. Wardens of the Old Ways. Etc.
@Fornlangtan This is a hard pill to swallow for many. Most christians are also not european. I have met africans coming here to spread ✝️ since it is dying in Europe. Europeans must start listening to our blood whispering again.
@thulean_elf There are problems on both sides, BUT the big issue is mens fear of having children. Men are trained and have been trained to never grow up for many decades. Thank the Gods I grew up viewing becoming a father as natural. I have taught my son that fatherhood is the end goal.
@ReconQuest777 This is my impression as well. Nordic melancholy(not depression) with its willingness to explore darker themes is very prevalent in a lot of nordic, but also european RPGs. What are your reflections on this US vs Euro difference?
@ReconQuest777 I look forward to reading the alignment rules of ReconQuest. I feel the alignments of dnd is unnatural, like they describing cartoonish characters. Because of this I have always partially resented alignments, but I see the need to describe characters outlook on things.
@ReconQuest777 It might be a bit controvercial, but in games with a lot of HP there should be an absolute brutal crit system. Not necessarily a insta kill possibillity, but a realistic possibility to be maimed/injured either physically or otherwise, permanently or requireing high magic to fix.
