What if you could teach an AI model to understand your specific use case?
You don’t always need to build a model from scratch.
With the right approach, you can fine-tune a smaller language model to learn your data, context, and specific needs.
Join us for a practical session on Fine-Tuning Your Own Small Language Model, as Ololade Anjuwon (@AnjuwonOlolade) covers everything you need to know to get started.
You’ll learn:
🔹 How Large Language Models (LLMs) work
🔹 How language models are trained
🔹 Why LLMs work
🔹 When and why to fine-tune a model
🔹 How to fine-tune your own Small Language Model
🔹 Fine-tuning techniques and approaches
🔹 Practical considerations for effective fine-tuning

You Secretly Forged an NIN document to enable you claim Mohbad’s wealth — Activist VDM Accuses Wunmi
Activist VeryDarkMan has accused Wunmi Aloba, the widow of late singer Mohbad, of allegedly forging an NIN document in connection with claims over her late husband’s assets.
In a video, VeryDarkMan questioned an alleged discrepancy between the name on Wunmi’s international passport and the name initially said to be on her NIN.
He claimed that Wunmi renewed her international passport in 2024, about one year and two months after Mohbad’s de@th, with the document reportedly valid until 2034. According to him, the passport bears the name “Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi.”
VeryDarkMan then questioned why, according to the information he was initially given, her NIN was said to carry “Aloba Cynthia Omowumi.”
“The name on the international passport and the information on your international passport must tally with the information on your NIN. So how come on your NIN, it is showing Aloba Cynthia Omowumi? But on your international passport, it is saying Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi? Something is wrong,” he said.
He said the matter was subsequently taken to NIN authorities for verification, where he claimed the record showed “Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo.”
However, VeryDarkMan alleged that Wunmi had secretly forged an NIN document to enable her to claim Mohbad’s wealth.
“Therefore, in order for Wumi to claim Mohbad’s wealth, Wumi secretly went to go and forge a document. This is a very big crime. This girl went to go and forge an NIN,” he alleged.
The activist also linked the issue to unanswered questions surrounding Mohbad’s de@th, questioning why his brother, Adura, allegedly failed to provide what he considered credible information about the circumstances surrounding the singer’s de@th.
“Could it be that this is the reason why Adura refused to give the credible information as to what led to the de@th of her brother? Could it be that this is why Wumi refused to speak in the earlier stage?” he asked.
Integrity is revealed in the choices we make when no one is watching.
As Brené Brown reminds us: “Integrity is choosing courage over comfort. It’s choosing what’s right over what’s fun, fast, or easy, and it’s practicing your values, not just professing them.”
When convenience is within reach, integrity is what keeps us committed to doing the right thing. Every decision we make, every promise we keep, and every standard we uphold shapes the kind of future we create.
This week, let your values guide your actions. Choose courage over convenience. Choose excellence over shortcuts. Choose integrity, even when it costs more.
Wishing you a productive, purposeful, and impactful week ahead.

Researchers are showing that you don’t always need massive datasets to bridge language gaps.
By using weighted sub-word embeddings and graph-matching techniques, this work maps translations between English and Bantu languages like Swahili and Zulu, even in low-data settings.
Through Bilingual Lexicon Induction (BLI), it identifies word equivalents by analyzing internal structure and semantic relationships, rather than relying solely on large parallel corpora.
That’s a powerful shift, because for many African languages, especially agglutinative ones where words are formed from rich combinations of smaller units, meaning lives inside the structure. And when models learn to work with that structure, accuracy improves without needing scale-heavy data.
It’s a reminder that closing the digital divide isn’t just about more data; it’s about smarter, linguistically grounded approaches.
Combining real-world data collection with approaches that respect the unique structure and behavior of African languages aligns closely to us, because true inclusion isn’t just about translating words, it’s about representing language the way it works.

We are excited to unveil @EqualyzAI GPU4Good, our continent-focused initiative providing FREE GPU access to African researchers building high-impact AI solutions for Africa.
We are doing this because Africa’s biggest AI challenge today is not talent. It is access to compute power.
Africa has less than 1% of the world’s GPU infrastructure, yet we are home to researchers, builders, and innovators capable of solving problems that affect 1.2 billion people. Too many important ideas are delayed or abandoned simply because the compute to train and test them is not available.
GPU4Good is our way of changing that.
By sharing our critical asset (Compute power), we want to see many African researchers turn strong ideas into trained models and deployed solutions, especially across African languages and local contexts.
This is a clear statement of who we are at EqualyzAI.
We are not just building AI products. We are building the infrastructure that allows Africa to build its own AI.
If you are a researcher working on problems that matter for Africa, we would love to support your work.
