Engineered destitution at its finest ; abolish Linda Mama, introduce 'SHA-uri yako' , and then feign heroism by footing medical bills. This is calculated exploitation masquerading as benevolence, a cruel mockery of genuine leadership.
GRATITUDE ✨
I was thinking of the random times women (mostly strangers) showed me kindness in the last month.
1. I was late for an interview - a project pitch to a company to be specific. The office was in Cape Town CBD and parking was nowhere to be found. I drove round and round, until I parked two streets away.
It was raining. I dashed to the building and after all checks, I asked for the bathroom. My blazer was visibly wet.
I tried to dry myself quickly and put myself together. I was running late. A lady in the bathroom offered to help dry my back… then she said “It’s not working mama. You need to take it off. You know what, you can wear mine and I’ll get it after your pitch.”
She took off her blazer and gave me 😭
(Side note: It smelled really good!)
Then she said to me, “Relax and breathe. I’m starting the meeting, so I’ll let you go in first and I’ll come in later, that way you won’t be late.
I will never forget that 😭
We got the funding 🤸♀️
(On merit - She wasn’t part of the decision-making team)
Our legal team led by @mwaurakab and @ManwaOH are in court this afternoon to represent arrested protestors who are taking plea at the milimani law courts. We thank all @LawSocietyofKe members for their selflessness in serving the country at this difficult time.
