As a follow up of the Departmental Summit held on 1st & 2nd Sept, me and my Secretary, had a fruitful meeting with Secretary and Commissioner Minsitry of Jal Shakti today. Hoping that the new Secretary will extend all possible help to WRD, Nagaland.
Reached Mon district today for a series of official engagements, including the inauguration of the Nagaland Inter-District Badminton Championships.
I began my itinerary by laying a wreath and paying my respects at the memorial of Late Shri Noke Wangnao.
He was among the tallest leaders to emerge from the district — a statesman who served Nagaland and its people with distinction, making immense contributions and significant sacrifices throughout a lifetime of public service.
For me, the moment was deeply personal. He was not only a senior leader whom I greatly admired and looked up to, but someone I had the privilege of working closely with for nearly two decades. He was a father figure, a mentor and a constant source of guidance and wisdom.
His life of service and his contributions to our State will continue to inspire generations.
May his memory and legacy live on for all time.
Happy to inaugurate the 48th Inter-District & State Badminton Championships in the Land of Anghs - Mon.
Congratulations to the Mon District Badminton Association and the Nagaland Badminton Association for organising a wonderful championship and providing an important platform for our players and emerging talents.
My best wishes to all the participants - compete with determination, believe in yourselves and always aim for the highest standards.
Mon district is blessed with tremendous talent across many fields. With the right opportunities, exposure and platforms, our young people have the potential to excel at the highest levels and bring glory to Nagaland and the nation.
Together, as OneTeamNagaland, we will continue working to create opportunities for our youth and take Nagaland higher.
Thank you to my sisters and brothers of Mon for the warm reception, generous hospitality and affection.
A significant step towards strengthening healthcare access and essential infrastructure in Mon District, marked by the launch of expanded dialysis services at Mon District Hospital and solar street lighting at Longwa Village and district hospital - both made possible through CSR outreach initiatives.
Grateful to Doctors For You (DFY) for their valued partnership and for efficiently operating the Dialysis Centre at Mon District Hospital under the PPP model - the second such partnership in Nagaland.
Sincere appreciation to all stakeholders, especially our civil society organisations led by the Konyak Union, KNSK and KSU, for their support and cooperation.
We remain committed to bringing essential services and development to every corner of Nagaland, particularly our remote and border areas, through meaningful partnerships and collective action.
Privileged to address the National Conference on AgriStack under the Digital Agriculture Mission and Mission for Aatmanirbharta (self-sufficiency) in Pulses in New Delhi today, in the presence of Hon’ble Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji, Ministers and senior officials from the Union and State Governments.
Highlighted Nagaland’s progress in AgriStack and Farmer ID, along with our unique challenges relating to terrain, traditional land holding systems, shifting cultivation and absence of land records. Also placed Nagaland’s priorities on pulse seed security, region-specific crops, rice-fallow & Zaid cultivation, and market linkages.
I deeply appreciate Shri #ShivrajSinghChouhan ji’s personal initiative and commitment to ensuring the proper and effective implementation of schemes and programmes through critical review and close monitoring.
Requested that the specific requirements of the North Eastern hill States be suitably accommodated for the Missions to deliver meaningful benefits to our farmers. @Neiphiu_Rio@MyGovNagaland@AgriNgl

It was a wonderful experience to participate in the UNIQLO–IDAN collaborative programme, which brought together more than 400+ students for an enriching session on management, best practices and the high professional standards of one of the world’s leading global brands.
Delighted to meet and welcome Mr. Yuichiro Kaneko, CEO of UNIQLO India, and his team to Nagaland. Grateful to UNIQLO for the positive partnership and, more importantly, for the opportunities these collaborations are creating for our talented young people.
Exposure to Japanese work culture and UNIQLO’s high benchmarks of discipline, commitment, professionalism and excellence, along with insights into career opportunities in the corporate world, will greatly benefit and inspire our young minds.
We look forward to strengthening and expanding the Nagaland-UNIQLO partnership in the coming days, creating more opportunities for our youth and building a collaboration of lasting mutual benefit.

Had the privilege of attending the 97th Annual General Meeting of the ICAR Society in New Delhi today.
Took the opportunity to raise key issues concerning agricultural research, education and extension in Nagaland and the North Eastern Region, including:
• Establishing a National/Regional Institute for Hill Agriculture & Climate-Resilient Farming, preferably in Nagaland.
• Establishing Colleges of Horticulture, Fisheries, Natural Farming & Food Technology in Nagaland under the CAU framework.
• Strengthening recruitment and infrastructure of all 11 KVKs, including the ICAR Nagaland Centre, Medziphema.
• Expediting new KVKs in the newly created districts.
I urged ICAR to accord greater institutional priority to Nagaland’s farmers, youth and immense agricultural potential, in keeping with the unique needs of our hill agriculture. @Neiphiu_Rio@ChouhanShivraj@icarindia@MyGovNagaland@AgriNgl
Chaired the DPDB meeting today at Wokha, followed by visits to the District Prison and Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Wokha.
At the District Prison, we inspected the existing facilities and interacted with the inmates. I appreciate the Prison-in-Charge, the Deputy Superintendent and his entire team for maintaining the institution with care and discipline despite several challenges, and, more importantly, for taking up various initiatives aimed at the welfare, dignity and rehabilitation of the inmates. Their efforts deserve recognition and encouragement.
At GHSS Wokha, we inspected the ongoing infrastructure works under the World Bank-funded LIGHTHOUSE NECTAR Project and interacted with the teaching faculty on the institution’s progress, needs and challenges.
Such field visits help us better understand ground realities and work collectively towards strengthening our public institutions and improving services for our people. @Neiphiu_Rio@MyGovNagaland@DC_Wokha@Nectar
