Tydavnet GWS source protection project litter pick on Sliabh Beagh - a crisp packet from 2017 - despite 5 years it is still near perfect. These can take up to 80 years to decompose. A risk to the environmental, social, economic, and cultural value of the blanket bog. @nfgws

The Fury River flows down from Sliabh Beagh blanket bog, feeds the River Blackwater, and eventually Lough Neagh. It's on the route of Sunday's walk. 4 lakes are also on the route, including Lough More the source of our neighbouring Truagh Water Scheme. #everydropcounts

As September nears, Tydavnet GWS source protection project continues on Sliabh Beagh. Stage 4 involves a community litter lift and guided walk. There will also be a community mapping event with Francis McCarron - all events to increase awareness of the importance of our bog.
