@morningbrings [Liam laughs, his smile just not quitting. She's beautiful and he's going to get to see her dog. He feels so wanted and at ease right now.] I don't care if he jumps on me. He's a sweetheart.
@PropheticProse_ He's oblivious to the lipstick on his cheek. He doesn't care, though. Not really. It's just a sign that someone cares about him, and that makes all the difference to him.
"So, what have you been doing with yourself lately?" He paused a moment, then laughed. "I've already -
@PropheticProse_ Goosebumps raise on his skin and he practically giggles (but it quite) at the kiss on the cheek. When was the last time someone did that? He wasn't sure, but he had sure missed it.
"Well, thank you, Matilda. That's very sweet of you."
@PropheticProse_ He smiled at her, that dazzling smile he was known to sport quite often but especially around her. "Kindness makes the world go round, and you, my dear, deserve kindness."
@PropheticProse_ Liam ducks his head a little bit, especially at the small touch. When was the last time he'd been touched by someone other than Harry? He can't remember.
"Oh, I don't know about that, Matilda."
No hipsters allowed at The Whiskey Devils.
Wait...did we say hipsters? We meant no hamsters. April Fools.
(But seriously, don't bring pets here. Also seriously, beer is half off all day today.)
@PropheticProse_ Liam knew /plenty/ about heartbreak and demons fighting for control. He'd been sober on and off for the last year. She'd caught him in a bit of an "on" phase.
"Oh, you know. Working and living and listening to Big Harry and his band. Beyond that, I went to New York -
@PropheticProse_ theirs before he washes out some glasses then returns to her.
He spins a glass around a towel as he asks, "What have you been up to, Matilda?"
@PropheticProse_ "One gin and tonic for the most beautiful woman at my bar today coming right up."
Liam busies himself with mixing the drink, and that of two others who slide up to the bar. Not wanting to look rude to them, he makes small talk with them, sliding her drink over, then -
@PropheticProse_ He notices her weight, or lack thereof, and tries not to frown fiercely at the worry it raises. It's none of his business, after all. He knows that.
"I can't complain. Shocking, I know. Have just been working mostly. Mixing drinks," he says with a wink. "What can I get you?"
[The Whiskey Devil's is busy tonight, people milling around and talking. The voices are a low drone, enough to distract him as Harper plays the cello on stage.]
