Commercial land isn't on the lower rate. And Farmland is going to have higher proportional land valve when compared to residential land.

Also the ubi gets clawed back by very high earners. which explains the "discrepancy"

to be fair, the second point is on TOP for combining their proposed tax rate with the UBI, instead of splitting it into a low income rate rate and a separate negative income tax

would be a lot less confusing and easier to compare

@Tom_R_Alliance hmm... Idk. GST has a lot of advantages over other taxes . it doesn't change behaviour, hard to avoid, allows savings before consumption.

Seems like if you wanted to avoid targeted welfare to solve issues with GST regressivity, a UBI or NIT could work better than dropping gst

@wekatweets they specify that they would only begin to introduce it after "2 years of planning and policy development" and given that their other big policy is a UBI, I don't think they are against giving out government assistance
