I don’t know anything about your life so I will bore your with mine.
I had a horrific childhood that I wouldn’t wish on anyone, even you.
My father was an alcoholic with a temper.
My mother was indifferent to her children and our home.
Neither cared about what kind of education I was getting so apparently neither did the school and because they didn’t care I didn’t either.
I was bullied, teased and humiliated constantly because to the other kids I was nothing but white trash.
I was literally slide through every year of school till they handed me a general diploma and sent on my way.
My first 10 years as an adult was one failure after another because I couldn’t get rid of all the baggage from those prior years.
I ended up with nothing.
No job, no prospects and no future.
I even tried to kill myself, that’s how low my life was.
But then something happened that turned me around and I knew what I had to do.
I knew it was going to be hard but I learned that the right thing to do and the hard things to do are usually the same.
I started my life over at 28, got a job as a security guard and busted my butt which helped me to get a better paying job.
I repeated that process 6 more times over 10 years.
I met a good woman and married her and that’s when my life really took off.
At 37 I bought my first brand new car.
At 41 we bought a small piece of land and built a new house on it. (We paid off that mortgage in 18 years,)
I acquired season tickets for a NFL team.
I attended a World Series, an NFL Playoff game and a NFL Conference championship game.
I have been on incredible vacations.
I am not bragging rather than pointing out my accomplishments that once upon a time I considered to be nothing but a dream.
And what was it that turned my life around?
It was a line from a speech that said “The only thing that is standing in our way is ourselves”.
I am sorry for the life you ended up with but ask yourself how many times were you standing in your own way.
Well, that’s about it and I hope I didn’t bore you too much.
Right now you have a choice.
Either you keep on bitching about everything or you do something about it.
