@thechimpinme@hobisunshinebb@tyshhawn Yes, while this is an assumption I would say it’s an assumption based on common patterns. It’s not just some random, impossible, or improbable assumption. It’s seen often.
@thechimpinme@hobisunshinebb@tyshhawn A lot of ppl who claim to support BLM never really supported it to begin with. So, it’s very possible that she didn’t “change” her mind, but never truly supported in the first place. This really is not uncommon, which is why many people here are coming to the same conclusion.
@thechimpinme@hobisunshinebb@tyshhawn Also, just because someone likes an individual from a race/ethnicity doesn’t mean they like/care abt the people as a whole. There’s the “you’re not like other *insert race/ethnicity* people” line which is very offensive and racist.
@KnightKnightEX@thechimpinme@hobisunshinebb@tyshhawn I understand, but it’s important to realize that not everyone has the same intentions. It’s easy for that to seem innocent (and it might actually be innocent!), but when you start recognizing patterns in society you begin to see that not everyone is genuinely an ally.
@thechimpinme@hobisunshinebb@tyshhawn What I’m saying is she wasn’t invested in BLM. Why would she take BLM out of her bio if she was heartbroken? I’ve been heartbroken, but it has never changed my support for or representation of BLM.
@thechimpinme@hobisunshinebb@tyshhawn The thing is BLM and her black boyfriend exist independently so if she really supported BLM she could’ve just left it there regardless of her relationship status. The fact that she deleted it only when they broke up speaks for itself.
