Atrociously misleading wording from Laura Goodwin. John Swinney didn't admit anything, the FM revealed that the SNP had *pro-actively* contacted HMRC to check VAT claims hadn't been made against Murrell's fake purchases.
This is unethical and embarrassing from Goodwin. It comes on the same day Andrew Kerr asked if the Scottish Greens were the "SNP's little helpers". Are these people really unaware how juvenile and tawdry this is? Have they no professional respect?
A reminder that @AnasSarwar is 43 years old and @RussellFindlay1 is 53 and yet here they are acting like fucking children. No wonder they got decimated at the ballot box 😂
Anas Sarwar's staffer posting complete guff.
1. Swinney revealed that the SNP *itself* had asked HMRC to check VAT hadn't been wrongly claimed on fake Murrell purchases.
2. A VAT claim is separate from the embezzlement crime.
Why do these people post stuff they know is untrue?
'Nigel Farage's claim, in essence, is that there's actually anti-white prejudice within the police. What's your response to that?' - @cathynewman
'I think he's talking nonsense. The kind of nonsense he's talking is dangerous' - Michael Mansfield KC

Interesting points: no public funds have been embezzled - the sole victim is @theSNP and its members.
Enough funds can be recovered from Murrell via ‘proceeds of crime’ mechanisms to repay the £400k he embezzled.
Fascinating that Tory MSP Rachel Hamilton should demand that Nicola Sturgeon should be charged for offences relating to Peter Murrell. She has been investigated and found innocent. But the irony is that Hamilton was fined £52k for pocketing employees’ pension contributions.
Scotland has enormous energy resources that should help lower our bills - but the powers to make these decisions remain at Westminster.
Decisions about Scotland’s energy should be made in Scotland, and last week Parliament endorsed that view.

The pro-Union media in Scotland won't change. Newspapers, deserted by Yessers, are scrabbling for the BritNat coin. The BBC *can't* change because its job is to protect the Union.
Scottish political journalism has, to all intents and purposes, ceased to exist and isn't coming back. What we have is the equivalent of toilet graffiti. Slurs, threats, smears and abuse scrawled, not on cubicle doors, but on autocues and newspaper pages.
The Sunday Show was awful on so many levels this morning. It's clear BBC Scotland has decided to put Nicola Sturgeon on trial. Funniest moment was main prosecution witness Joanna Cherry insisting "It isn't about me". The longer it goes on the more angry and bitter Cherry sounds.
@ScotlandNT@The_Young_Team@FIFAWorldCup Gutted for Gilmour. And for Lennon Miller too now actually.
Massive opportunity for Fletcher and I hope he steps up to the plate.
Following the news of Billy Gilmour's injury we can confirm that 19-year-old Tyler Fletcher has been added to our @FIFAWorldCup squad after making his debut against Curaçao yesterday.
Welcome aboard, Tyler 🛫 🇺🇸
I've just watched Laura Kuenssberg's interview with Nicola Sturgeon, and she comes a cross very credible, and you can clearly see that she's hurt.
I believe her.
Towards the end of this interview Laura Kuenssberg asks Nicola Sturgeon if she'll pay out of her own pocket to recover the funds embezzled by her ex-husband 🤷♂️
Sturgeon was arrested, investigated, and released without charge
Peter Murrell pleaded guilty to the embezzlement, so he bears criminal responsibility
Spouses are not automatically liable for each other's crimes under UK law unless there's evidence of joint enterprise or prior knowledge
Laura Kuenssberg knows this but she said it anyway
One of the most powerful women in British politics brought down not because of what she did or didn't do, but because of what her ex-husband did
And one of the most influential high profile journalists covering British politics, not showing support to her, but exploiting the fact that she was a victim, to bring her down even further
Sinn Féin is bringing forward a Dáil motion on Tuesday 9th June to support calls to ‘Stop the Game’ between Ireland and Israel.
It is unthinkable for Ireland to play Israel at home or away while Israel is engaging in genocide, occupation and apartheid against the Palestinian people. Israel cannot continue to act with impunity. Israel must be sanctioned.
Ireland has to take a stand. The FAI has to take a stand. The Irish government has to take a stand. #stopthegame
We don't have a political media in Scotland worthy of the name. Mostly what we have can't be called journalism or a national media. It's a malevolent entity that spreads disinformation and bile. It frequently caricatures us. Most isn't even controlled from within Scotland.
