BENUE ONE MILLION MARCH RESCHEDULED TO SATURDAY, 26 SEPTEMBER 2026

The leadership of the Obidient Movement, Benue State, wishes to inform all members, supporters, volunteers, stakeholders, well-wishers, and the general public that the Benue One Million Man March, previously scheduled for Saturday, 12th September 2026, has been postponed and rescheduled.
The decision to reschedule the March reflects our commitment to ensuring that the event is conducted in a peaceful, orderly, responsible, and lawful manner, with due regard for the safety and security of all participants, residents, and other road users.

Following extensive consultations and careful consideration involving relevant security agencies, stakeholders, well-wishers, and leaders of the Movement across Benue and the country, the March will now take place as follows:

📅 New Date: Saturday, 26 September 2026
⏰ Time: 9:15 AM
📍 Convergence Point: Wurukum Roundabout, Makurdi, Benue State

THIS IS NOT A RETREAT. IT IS A RESPONSIBLE DECISION.
The additional time will enable participants travelling from different parts of Benue State and beyond to make adequate preparations, while allowing the organisers to further strengthen mobilisation, coordination, and logistics for a larger, better-organised, and more impactful March.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience, disappointment, or hardship that the postponement may have caused our members, supporters, and all those who had already made preparations to participate. We urge everyone to remain united, steadfast, committed, peaceful, fully mobilised and turbo charged as we work towards the new date.

THE MARCH IS POSTPONED, NOT CANCELLED.
On Saturday, 26 September 2026, we will come together in peace, unity, and solidarity with one clear message: BENUE MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN.

65 FREE SURGERIES FOR 65 CHILDREN

Yesterday, I attended the final follow-up clinic and appreciation programme at Mother Mary Hospital, Isolo, Lagos, following the successful completion of 65 free surgeries for children to mark my 65th birthday.

I am deeply grateful to God Almighty for guiding the medical team throughout the process and for granting all 65 children safe and successful surgeries.

The surgeries, led by Dr Folaseye Adebayo and her dedicated team, included adenotonsillectomy. This procedure removes enlarged or chronically infected tonsils and adenoids, which can cause breathing difficulties, recurrent infections, and sleep-related problems in children.

What made the occasion particularly touching was listening to parents share their testimonies and hearing how these procedures have improved their children’s health and quality of life.

My profound appreciation goes to @DrFolaseye Adebayo and her entire team, the hospital management, the parents, and everyone who contributed to making this initiative possible.

For me, birthdays are not merely occasions for celebration. They are opportunities to give back, touch lives, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

I thank God for the privilege of being part of this initiative and, most importantly, for the gift of 65 healthy and hopeful children.

May God continue to bless all those who dedicate their lives to saving and improving the lives of others.

Yesterday, I received Master Michael Offorkaile, an illustrious son of Abia State, who scored an outstanding 367 in the 2026 JAMB/UTME examinations, placing him among the joint 5th highest scorers nationwide.

Accompanied by his parents and the management of his school, Grundtvig International Secondary School, Oba, Anambra State, he visited my office where I congratulated him on this remarkable achievement. As a government built on meritocracy, we celebrate excellence wherever it is found, and his feat is a shining example of what our youths can achieve.

I have directed the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof (Mrs.) Uche Eme Uche, to work out the details of the State’s support for his academic journey, while my Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Dodoh Okafor, will liaise with the family to ensure smooth coordination.

Michael's recognition is not only to celebrate him but also to inspire other young Abians and Nigerians to strive for excellence, knowing that their hard work will be honoured.

His journey towards higher education has just begun, and we are confident that he will strive for excellence and bring even greater pride to Abia State and Nigeria. As a government, we stand firmly behind him and will provide the necessary support to ensure his success.
