But there is another allegation here that is far more serious.
Dominic Williams says the growing wave of coordinated anti-ICP trolling and attacks may trace back to funded organizations, and DFINITY is now asking for information that could help identify those responsible.
DFINITY says it will offer rewards for information that helps unmask the criminals and bring them to justice.
Important distinction: the technical attack on the network and claims about who funded or coordinated it are not the same thing. Unless evidence is published linking specific organizations or individuals, attribution remains an allegation.
But one fact matters enormously:
THE INTERNET COMPUTER WAS ATTACKED.
THE NETWORK STOOD UP. ♾️

I first came across @dfinity in 2018.
Back then, the crypto market was filled with projects being labeled as “Ethereum killers,” and @dfinity was one of the projects attracting significant attention.
But what caught my attention wasn’t simply the idea of another L1.
@dfinity was thinking on a much longer time horizon.
Its vision went far beyond blockchain itself: an Internet Computer something closer to a World Computer where software and services could run directly on the internet.
That vision also attracted investment from a number of prominent institutional investors.
I was fascinated by the technological possibilities.
At a time when there was very little information available in Korea, I spent countless hours digging through overseas communities, technical discussions, and whatever material I could find about @dfinity and the Internet Computer.
I’ve now been following the project for roughly eight years.
In 2021, I began investing in more seriously, which means I’ve also spent about five years following it as an investor.
And from an investment perspective, there is no point pretending otherwise:
it has been disappointing.
Technological achievement and market valuation are two entirely different things, and has demonstrated that gap painfully well over the past several years.
Yet there is a reason I continue to follow it.
Once you understand some of @dfinity technological architecture and what it has been trying to build over the long term, it becomes difficult at least for me to view simply as another blockchain competing with other L1s within the crypto market.
Of course, superior technology does not guarantee success.
Technology eventually has to translate into real users, real demand, and economic value.
And this is why I find @dfinity latest major developments particularly interesting.
They appear to be addressing one of the questions I’ve had for years:
If the last decade was about building the technology, how will the next phase turn that technology into products the real world can actually use and pay for?
For the first time, I’m going to put together a longer article sharing my thoughts on this.
I’ll cover Cloud Engines, OpenSaaS, whether these developments primarily benefit @dfinity or actually create economic value for , how they could compete with existing cloud infrastructure, the risks involved, and the different scenarios I see playing out from here.
I’ll also explain why, after following @dfinity for eight years despite the disappointing investment performance I still believe its potential deserves to be evaluated beyond the boundaries of the traditional crypto market.

One of my favorite points from @BobbyO_ ‘s last video has been sticking with me:☁️
The U.S. is deeply invested in legacy cloud infrastructure, so adopting something fundamentally different like ICP is a much harder decision.
Countries building out their digital infrastructure from scratch have a different calculation.
Pakistan can look at ICP as an opportunity to build sovereign infrastructure instead of spending decades becoming dependent on the same systems everyone else uses.
Europe is different. It already relies heavily on U.S. cloud infrastructure, but sovereignty, the CLOUD Act, cybersecurity, and AI competition are forcing a harder look at that dependency.
The point isn’t that ICP is being ignored.
In some places, the incentive to build differently simply arrived earlier.
And honestly, this piece of information alone could be worth millions to anyone who understands what it means.☁️

Funny how “crypto media” suddenly goes quiet when the story doesn’t fit the narrative. Disingenuous at best. ☁️
The SaaS stack is showing its age.
CRM, HR, calendars, expenses, etc.
Separate products, separate logins, duplicated data, and a seat tax on every employee.
That model made sense when software couldn’t see across systems, and AI was just a chatbot in the corner.
Open SaaS on $ICP flips the architecture:
One suite, remixable, no per-seat licensing + AI operating on live company state instead of moving CSVs between tools.
And there’s another difference: the infrastructure itself can be tamper-proof and verifiable.
Critical company data and business logic can live onchain, with state that isn’t silently altered by a vendor, and rules that can be independently verified.
Obviously, it isn’t free to run. A cloud engine is still infrastructure: cycles pay for compute and storage.
What disappears is the rent on the software itself, and the assumption that enterprise software has to remain fragmented to stay billable.
If this model holds, the old SaaS stack isn’t really competing.
It’s becoming legacy plumbing.
One reason I really like DFINITY and $ICP has nothing to do with tokenomics.
