Drip founder Lekau Sehoana opens first new store in Pretoria

Entrepreneur Lekau Sehoana has officially opened the first standalone store for the revived Drip brand in Pretoria's CBD.

The new outlet, located on Helen Joseph Street opposite the South African Reserve Bank, marks a significant milestone for the businessman nearly two years after Drip Footwear was liquidated.

In a post on Friday, Sehoana reflected on the journey: "Something special happened today in Pretoria, we opened our 1st store. On the 26th of July 2019 we launched DRIP, over 750,000 pairs of sneakers later, we got liquidated and we had to start all over again. 7 Years later we are here again. Persistence."

The store soft-opened earlier this month, with Sehoana inviting the public to visit and later sharing images of customers and visitors, including fashion designer Tshepo Jeans.

The relaunch comes after Sehoana rebuilt the brand following the 2024 liquidation that led to the closure of its previous retail outlets.
