We implemented the first live cross-border transaction on Swift's blockchain-based ledger, in partnership with @HSBC.
Announced in August, this milestone is part of a broader industry effort to enable distributed ledger technology to support real-world payment use cases at scale, while preserving the role of regulated bank money.
As institutional demand grows for faster, more efficient ways to move liquidity and optimise working capital increase, interoperable tokenised deposits will play an increasingly important role in helping corporate and institutional clients manage treasury operations, unlock operational efficiencies and support real-time liquidity management across markets.

As organisations accelerate AI adoption, one reality is becoming increasingly clear: AI is only as effective as the data, governance and human judgement that underpin it.
In a recent article, Shebani Baweja, Group Chief Data Officer, highlights that one of the biggest barriers to scaling AI is often not the technology itself, but the quality, consistency, and governance of the underlying data. Organisations that combine reliable data, proportionate governance, and skilled talent will be best positioned to innovate with confidence and deliver better outcomes.

We've become the first Global Systematically Important Bank (G-SIB) and first UK Issuer to issue digitally native notes on Euroclear's Digital Financial Market Infrastructure, marking another important step in the development of digital capital markets.
As sole dealer for the USD 200 million issuance, we are helping demonstrate how distributed ledger technology can be integrated with trusted market infrastructure while maintaining the connectivity, efficiency, and investor access that capital markets rely on.
As interest in digital assets continues to grow, transactions like this help advance the ecosystem needed to support broader adoption and the continued evolution of tokenised financial markets.
