WAS JEFFREY DONALDSON A STATE AGENT?

In his column in this morning's @irish_news, Patrick Murphy briefly pondered the question that an increasing number of people have been asking? Patrick enquired whether "Jeffrey Donaldson was unionism's equivalent of Stakeknife"?

So let me now expand on that assertion a little bit... How much do the present leadership of the DUP actually now know about the activities of their convicted former Leader?

Could this (partly) help to explain why the DUP's "urgent" Internal Safeguarding Review" into Jeffrey Donaldson (as publicly vocalised by Gavin Robinson in June this year) has still not seen been completed?

The Report was supposed to have been completed in July this year, but to date we have had complete 'omerta' from both the DUP and also the Lead Investigator @JimGamble_INEQE .

Our mostly inefficient local media have almost universally failed to question Gavin Robinson about the reasons for this inexplicable delay. Rather, they are too busy obsessing with the now daily psychodrama of 'Queen Carla' and her cohorts.

Jeffrey Donaldson worked for the British Government overseas in a role which has never been adequately explained.

Why for instance, was Donaldson undertaking sensitive work in dictator-led Cameroon just a week after he himself collapsed Stormont in 2022? Why was he helping sell arms in Egypt alongside a British general?

Furthermore, how can anyone then adequately explain his declaration in January 2024 that the Irish Sea Border was "gone"?

It is highly plausible that Donaldson was compromised. Cast your mind back to Mandy McAuley's excellent BBC Spotlight Documentary which was broadcast earlier this year.

In that documentary, the former Head of the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch Tim Hanley, recalled that he and a colleague had witnessed Jeffrey Donaldson walking into a Gay Sauna named 'Chariots' near Westminster, in June 2006.

Incredibly, it was also revealed that the sauna was directly across the road from the Headquarters of MI6.

It now seems a plausible possibility that Jeffrey Donaldson may have been compromised. Most likely, as a result of his covert gay lifestyle.

If so, the ramifications for the DUP are potentially enormous. As Party Leader of the DUP, Donaldson had the power to influence (and change) their Party Policy, particularly towards the Irish Sea Border.

If the Intelligence Services were controlling Jeffrey Donaldson, were they also (de facto) controlling the DUP?

The potential political capital here for both the TUV & UUP is considerable. Whether either of them have the political acumen to exploit that is highly debatable however...

As for Jeffrey Donaldson himself, one suspects that only a very minimal part of his 'story' has yet been told.

We may never fully learn the whole
truth...

Eamon de Valera, in a response to Winston Churchills disgraceful slander against Ireland at wars end in 1945, posed a powerful hypothetical question

Despite 9% of Irelands population going to the UK war effort, 0 to Germany, and enormous Irish efforts to aid the allies, Churchill falsely accused Ireland of ‘frolicking with the Germans’ at war end

This was a lie. This didn’t happen.

Churchill knew this. He had an agenda.

He took his shot at wars end, his intention to diminish Irish aims at ending the undemocratic partition of Ireland.

This slander outraged the hundred of thousands of Irish in Britains armies, factories and fields

On the point of Irish neutrality, which was no different to American, Belgian, Danish or any other neutrality, de Valera posed a question.

He invoked the extraordinary, exceptional circumstances that led to Irish neutrality.

The history of Britain in Ireland.

The ongoing occupation of the six counties of the north of Ireland, which finally may end soon.
