Country singer Carrie Underwood shows off a patriotic display of American flags near her property in Tennessee ahead of the nation’s 250th birthday. 🇺🇸
"I can’t believe I get to live here. Thank you, Lord," Underwood wrote on Instagram.
Two young men showed kindness without thinking twice—and it meant so much to us.
“We were in Athens yesterday, and my daughter Avery really had to go to the bathroom. We ran into the nearest place we could find, which happened to be a Subway restaurant in downtown Athens. We rushed straight to the bathroom, but the worker stopped us and said the bathroom was only for paying customers. I didn’t have my wallet with me, so I told him I was sorry and we’d just leave.
Right away, two young men spoke up and said they would buy a cookie for Avery so she could be a ‘paying customer’ and use the bathroom.”
“I was so thankful. I told them thank you over and over and took Avery to the restroom. When we came out, the guys were still there, so I thanked them again and started chatting with them. That’s when I found out they both play football for the University of Georgia. (Go Dawgs!) We had a great talk, shared a few laughs, and talked about the team.”
To some people, this might seem like a small thing. But to me, it was a big act of kindness. These two college guys—who don’t even have kids—stepped up and helped us without being asked. The world needs more of that kind of heart.
Thank you, Latavious and Jaylen! You’re fine young men, and you didn’t expect anything in return. You reminded me of something Andy Stanley once said in a sermon: “What does love require of you?” You both showed the answer.
You were a much-needed ray of sunshine. The world really does need more love, sweet love.
Go Dawgs!!
