@TMLeafsForever@hollowsrfree@whereisab@franncesco53@Banx_Leaf Marner’s camp literally sent a message taunting an individual fan after getting 3 points while down 3-1 in a series. To him, games 5-7 are just the same as 1-4, and he’s a fucking idiot.
@Tys35 Was thinking about this too, and it’s totally the right move. We’re making the playoffs regardless, so don’t need to spend the dollars then. Add anyone we want at the deadline (Forsberg), sit Jarry in the playoffs hopefully… and this is the deepest Oilers team in the McD era
Holy shit just getting home but what a turnaround from the Oilers. Yesterday was “get ready to see Nurse again next year” and expecting a sleepy FA.
Instead they move Nurse (for +value!!), acquire 2 solid goalie bets, add a very good LD in Shea, and shore up depth. Unbelievable
This is how things appear to be unfolding:
Nurse to SJ
Shakir Mukhamadullin will be part the return
There will be no retention by the Oilers
We await the final picture
Probably lower on Levi than most on here, but this looks like a fine deal. See what he can do with another NHL chance.
I would’ve thought Hildeby from TOR would be a better option, especially after they signed Bob
TRADE 🔄
The #Oilers have acquired goaltender Devon Levi & a seventh-round selection in the 2028 NHL Draft from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Edmonton's third-round pick in 2028.
What’s frustrating is that it’s another “bet” on a goaltender in the McDavid era, especially after Jarry’s play last year a more established goalie would’ve been ideal.
If they were going to make another bet, Hildeby plays a more composed game, has had NHL success, and he’s 6’7
Hearing that the Florida Panthers are getting close to acquiring Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators.
I believe Ottawa will get three first-round picks and a second-round pick in the deal if finalized. More to come.
@Kgill39@thegoldenmuzzy@TLNdc He flamed out pretty hard. I bet it’s got around the league a bit already. I wonder if he even gets another HC job next, probably an assistant
@zest5500@politics_w_sami If anything the pop growth is happening west of the 404. Oshawa is maybe a snub for a stop, and Peterborough is an interesting choice honestly, but makes sense given the direction of the proposed line. Pete will see good growth. Cottage country not affected.
@zest5500@politics_w_sami Why the hell would a town with 2500 people get a stop on a federally funded train line? The smallest city with a stop will be Peterborough, population 83,00
@JasonGregor Only cup roster in last 25 years led by stars who were at all considered “soft” was DET. They were tough down the roster, and Zet+Dats were elite two way players. Matthews has that, Nylander doesn’t. Also missing a Lindstrom. Still not impossible for them to put it together
