Folarin Balogun
He was so confused about who to play for while growing up, USA might just be the best choice for him.
He played for England and then USA, and then England again, up until u21s before he finally pledged fully to USA.
Born to Nigerian parents in the US. They relocated to the UK before he was even 1 year old.
Arsenal academy boy who was never trusted to play with the main team. I really thought Arteta would give him a chance when he scored 20+ goals for Reims that season, but he wasn’t.
I’m happy he’s doing well for himself in Monaco. Good to see him at the World Cup for USA, he seems undisputed here. England has so many options in that position, Nigeria has too. USA is perfect.
Hwang In-beom
The midfield maestro who plays for Feyenoord. 100% flair, uses both feet, can make those runs into the box once in a while, just like he did today.
He’s been a traveler in his career. From Korean league to MLS to Russian League, back to K-league, then to the Greek giants, Olympiacos and Red Star Belgrade, before going to Feyenoord.
We saw him at the last World Cup. My best memory of him was in the Portugal game they won, he’s just pretty to watch, and those are the kind of players we stay awake for. What a goal he scored today, sent those defenders to the shop before chipping the ball, only 💯 IQ players score such goals.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Hwang In-beom.
If I did not select you earlier, you can reply under their tweet, they also want to pay for 20 more people.
You guys know I'm passionate about the game, I want as much people to watch the world cup.
There are so many late games, so you might not be able to go to the film house, having it at home or on your phone is the best.
Reply them under this tweet and they can select 20 people to pay for.
One thing about football fans is that they do not understand the business side of football.
They want every player, the best players, at the club. They do not understand that the club also has to make money.
Raphinha peaked at 28, no sir, he peaked for one season, that's a shooting star season, players have it. Palmer had it and could not repeat it again, Messi had 91 goals in one year and did not repeat it again, Raphinha had about 60 goal contributions last season, was he able to replicate it again? no...but you think he will do it again next season lol.
Age is a big part of football, a very big part. 80m for a soon-to-be 30 year old is good, a player that couldn't replicate the wonder season, a player that is already struggling with injuries here and there, you know why? his game is based on physicality, and players like that will keep getting injured as they age. Do not expect that season he had again, the chances of it happening again is low just like I explained with other players.
The business side, we also need money as a club, and can also invest that in younger players. The crazy part of all these that you guys ain't considering is that, if he underperforms this coming season, the fans will be frustrated, the club will be, and to top it all, he will have ONE year left on his contract, which means we probably wouldn't get such amount for him again.
A very good skill in football business is that you must know when to sell or hold. Brighton just sacked their Sporting Director, Baleba went from being worth 80m to less than 40m just in one season because he refused to sell when the ovation was high, that's how football can change so quickly. Same thing with Mitoma.
Big clubs like ours are not selling clubs, but we have made so many financial mistakes recently, and we're trying to bounce back, in my opinion, this is good money and we should sell. I know you can be attached to players, but at some point, he will leave, and that's normal.
You need one man to change your life.
What are the odds?
One person would just get interested in you and be invested in seeing you succeed.
May you come across your helper, Amen.
If you come across this on your timeline, kindly help with a repost. I still need brand collaborations. Suggestions, referrals, and introductions would also be greatly appreciated.
Guéla Doué scores for Ivory Coast.
The camera man had one job, and yes he did his job perfectly.
He showed Désiré Doué on the bench and Désiré was smiling to see his brother score haha.
If you didn’t know, both Guéla and Désiré were born in France to an Ivorian father and French mother.. Guéla plays for Ivory Coast, while Désiré plays for France.
