“That’s wrong but here’s the question you answered correctly.”
Such a pro response to a wrong answer, one that requires BUCKETS of pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, self-confidence, love for students, etc.

As we strive to educate the whole child, we must first listen to them. Their perceptions of their communities, families, peers, and self will guide our work. To most impact our standardized test results, multiple measures of data are vital. #FHSUData
ISO intro and more advanced constructions lessons for a hs applied geometry class. This is my first yr teaching this course. I appreciate your help! #mtbos#iteachmath
@k8mcnabb This is one of my favs, lol. Maybe try a creativity conversion contest- who can come up with the most random, fun conversion. Square of tp in inches then how many to wrap a person, then convert to dm, or how many years old to minutes, etc. most conversions to final answer wins.
@riversidehsmath Leaving a baby is hard. So hard. Hang in there. I love being able to be part of my kids’ days now that they’re in school. A smile at lunch, a wave at an assembly, etc. He will be proud you are a teacher.😊
@Fouss I feel being a parent of a hs student made me a better teacher as well. Especially made me more cognizant of homework time and extra curricular conflicts.
@misscalcul8 Curious about no hmwk in hs math. I try to limit practice to what I feel is necessary, but eliminating is intriguing. Primary concern is my students would not reach ability to understand concepts and persevere in working problems w/out practice outside class. Old school thoughts?
@misscalcul8 Thanks! My biggest struggle is what goes in the binder vs what goes in the ntbk. Classroom notes, practice problems (hmwk), etc. I really like the idea of leaving binders in classroom. They get so heavy. But then where does hmwk/practice go to make it home?
@misscalcul8 I enjoyed reading your post and agree. I use binders and would like to start using interactive ntbks, but Im struggling how to juggle both. I would love to hear any add’l suggestions you have time to share. Thanks!
