@EithanDHaimMD Sorry to say it, but it worries me about younger doctors. But sometimes social media has a way of making things seem worse than real life. Maybe lots can of doctors just roll their eyes and get through this part of their training?
@miroirdufou@wesyang No, you are not allowed ro twist words into whatever you desire.
A man self id-ing as a woman opens a giant loophole for all men to be in women’s restrooms. It also allows men with autogynephilia in our restrooms. All of this beyond extreme, including your fake definition.
@wesyang@JessDeWahls SO WELL SAID. I never hear this called out for what it is FAR LEFT extremism. Unfortunately all western media has mainstreamed the trans issue without any questions asked. To ask was framed as bigotry. Traditional media has been mainstreaming the far left for years.
@mmcdonaldlewis “Man-oh-man” we are on the same wavelength—so well said.
As a woman I’m also tired of “first female this-n-that” —as if it’s some miracle. We are so past all of that, every job I’ve had has been female dominated (and I’m no spring “chick”).
Top, bad. Right? Bottom, good. Wait. What?
I'm tired of it.
I'm tired of men quaking in front of their wives, girfriends, daughters and female bosses on sitcoms. I'm tired of women always driving the car with their male partner as passive passenger on dramas, and female cops and detectives always rushing into danger first. I'm tired of women outrunning and tackling the bad guy, and I'm tired of women beating the hell out of men.
It's all so damnable predictable, tedious and lazy. And it does not comport with reality.
Why can't we tell stories that reflect biology, psychological and emotional makeup, and interpersonal logic?
I'm so glad you asked.
Because flipping sex-based relations on its head is key to weakening the foundation of society. Not just because this attacks how the sexes interact in everyday life, but because it demands we accept what isn't REAL.
It trains us to submit to the absurd.
Storytelling is the vehicle for this, and in this sense, it is the canary in the coal mine. We should listen. The birdsong is already faint, and fading fast.
@mmcdonaldlewis@herandrews I’ll have to listen. I saw her being dogpiled… it seems dogpilers are often unable to see nuance. She’s not saying women are horrible. I think her premise is very plausible. I tend toward empathy and feelings too—but “trans rights before women’s rights” has changed that for me.
@JohnPapola AI has been a boon in my job, I absolutely love it. I totally related to your previous episode about it a few weeks ago. That said, if an AI center was plopped down within earshot of my home, I would give all of that fabulous capability back. Bet you would too.
@RyanHoliday I’m listening to you on @ShawnRyan762. Enjoyed it. You two are worried about your kids growing up becoming entitled, here’s my challenge—spread your wealth. There are so, SO many Americans barely surviving. You BOTH have the power to change this. BE the leaders you talked about.
@briebriejoy Briahna, you just cannot see your own hypocrisy and ugliness. It’s unfortunate. Drop your phone, look in the mirror and ask yourself, “Am I being a good and decent person here, or am I becoming the very kind of ugly bully I thought I’d protect people from.”
@saniyafatma1278 You look beautiful, the dress is stunning. Kudos on your great find. People waste so much money on weddings it’s far better spending time (and money) on making a great life together.
@oregoncitizen_ I’m seeing it too and get the same “something is up with all these units” feeling. —Like it was play for a giant influx they were expecting.
@tedkoppel13@michaelshermer@herandrews So he was fired by Google first for his unthoughtful non-inclusive comments. His whole firing (even if he was “wrong” was ridiculous).
Also, I’d really have to parse any sociological research to agree that it offers evidence.
@michaelshermer@herandrews There’s a lot of “yeah, but…” in the comments. I think her premise fits quite well with where we find ourselves. We need ying and yang.
@Tpf6667777@michaelshermer@herandrews Her premise is not that all women are woke or that all women are to blame. It’s that men and women who lean into those more stereotypical feminine traits (and then gain the upper hand) are the problem.
