Most "assets" in the world are tokens in the loosest sense. They sit on a custodian's ledger and as a normal person you can't move them or pledge them or borrow against them easily. Not really yours to do anything with.

When assets come onchain that changes. The asset becomes capital you can use. You can borrow against it, post it as collateral, deploy it at 3am in the morning if you feel like it.

By putting the asset onchain you're connecting it to a global credit system that wasn't there before.

By creating more credit, we create more wealth.
