She was pointing out there’s far more options than FF, & it’s ridiculous to argue that there is only expensive ethical clothing or FF, and therefore to give up trying to shop ethically.

@dandelionbeam @Neil_Chambers1 @fernm8 @katiedimartin The problem here is that minimum wage doesn’t allow you to purchase clothing that is produced ethically, NOT the price of ethical fashion. That is not the problem. The issue is that capitalism thrives on (effectively) slave labour and does not compensate its workers.

@katiedimartin @fernm8 tell me you’ve never bought their work without telling me- Fern’s stuff is so insanely high quality & worth the price point. If you want to buy ethical clothing, you pay a fair price for their labour, it’s literally not that hard to grasp.

are there instances of women becoming obsessed with historic events? definitely a male preoccupation with certain phases of history (Civil War, Nazis, Hitler) & reenactments of battles. women may obsess over reading, music & dance, kitties, doggies, clothes, gardening, men.

The actual course was filled with archive visits learning about the @Gustavs_Hand project, understanding augmented reality in historical spaces & giving presentations on our final day; it was such a wonderful, insightful week. I will miss you, Sweden 🇸🇪

Incredibly lucky to have participated in the Things That Matter summer school this week, run by @durham_uni @univgroningen & hosted by @UU_University! All we learned, experienced & produced gave me faith that the humanities sector can truly thrive when given the tools to do so ❤️

Huge highlight - visiting over midsommar meant we got the chance to visit Gamla Uppsala for their celebrations which I studied in my second year History course at Durham, wove our own crowns & walked through the nature reserves back to the city!

Wonderful evidence here in Ælfric's Grammar that 'ha ha' has been the sound and spelling of laughter in English since at least the 11th century and the Old English period.
