Today is Emergency Services Day (#999Day)
Thank you to the 2 million people working and volunteering across the NHS and emergency services.
From the 250,000 first responders who run towards danger, to hospital staff and personnel behind the scenes. We are indebted to you all.
Last weekend 64 new recruits, together with their proud families & friends were welcomed at Hendon as the officers completed initial training & now start their journey in policing for London as Special Constables.
Are you ready to join us?
It was really great to recognise the contributions of some of our longest serving Special Constables at New Scotland Yard.
Officers were congratulated by Special Chief Officer James Deller and Deputy Assistant Commissioner Helen Millichap for their immense service to Londoners.
Did you know Special Constables are Volunteers?
The @metpoliceuk has just over 1,500 Special Constables
We would like to say thank you, to our volunteers, both in the @MPSSpecials & wider Met on #volunteersweek2023
Thank you for your commitment!

Just stopped to speak with @MPSSpecials officers in Chinatown for #LunarNewYear using their language skills, as I remember doing many lunar moons ago! 祝大家新年快乐!@MetCASEASA
@virginmedia Intermittent broadband today.
Status page: "There are no known broadband issues in your postcode"
Hub test result page: "Looks like there are issues in your postcode affecting your services"
So is it being fixed or not?
What a day around Westminster Abbey for #QueensFuneral – Quick photo at rest stop after 12 hour foot patrol. Never been thanked so much by the public, outweighing few who take out frustration over crowds & closures at those keeping them safe. An honour to serve #QueenElizabethII
"Tonight every member of the Metropolitan Police Service joins the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty The Queen."
