@obbsie We used them...only issue is that there was multiple stands and vendors blasting music so hence it being ineffective. To be fair crowd was very understanding of why it was shut down.

@MikePannett This is just ridiculous, it'll never work... personally for me I work as control staff and do average of 5 x 12 hour shifts a week , even with my 5 days off I give at least two of them up to staff up response teams as they are so short.

Emergency service worker. Working all Christmas this year: Xmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day. Partner moaning about it, saying I'm caught every year & it's unfair. I actually volunteer. Prefer it to spending Xmas in their grim home town with their dull family

Google it...the amount of non police matters that come through on the 999 line is shocking ...personally I think the new comms from @MetCC is great but there needs to be more awareness pushed out to the public.
