You will all have seen and many comment when we post a stray or abandoned dog who is in a Council Pound Kennel facility.
You will also note that UNLESS exceptional circumstance where a previous history is known we state the following -
* NO CHILDREN
* NO CATS or SMALL FURRIES
* FULL FACILITY TO SEPARATE FROM ANY RESIDENTIAL DOGS
* FULLY SECURE FENCING AND ACCESSIBLE GARDEN
* SOMEONE AROUND MOST OF THE TIME
I would like to make it clear to ALL that there is a reason for these 'rules' and a very good one at that!!!!
Pound kennels are unable to fully assess stray dogs. They are not insured or employed to do so and so the degree of information we are given is limited from pound to pound and dog to dog.
We, giving RESCUE SPACE to each dog we can, are under IMMENSE pressure at the moment, in the main being unable to find SUITABLE homes for some of the already fully assessed dogs, let alone urgent and at risk of PTS dogs.
These dogs are ONLY at risk through the irresponsible BREEDING, SELLING and BUYING of the dogs by the unutterable SCUM who dump them and leave them to their fate! Leaving them for those who work in the pound system to have to make unthinkable and horrific decisions simply because there is NOWHERE for them to go.
It is OUR responsibility as a RESCUE to give these dogs the VERY BEST chance of a new life and with our kennels sitting stagnant with dogs like DIDI, OSCAR, the lurcher puppies and Didi's puppies, we have NOWHERE to put a dog if things don't work in a foster.
Please picture this - IF we (as an example) placed a dog straight from the pound in a home with a child and the child got bitten, the dog would be destroyed (through no fault of its own, we would be held fully accountable for irresponsibly placing a dog who was not fully assessed in an unsuitable home and putting a person (or even another dog) at risk and would be failing all round so BEFORE we get a barrage of comments saying our rules are TOO STRICT - THEY ARE NOT! They are there for the protection of both the dog and people.
Please read our foster and adoption guidlines BEFORE offering help and IF you feel you can help please complete an online application form.
We are a VERY small team and simply cannot monitor all comments, questions or offers.
THANK YOU for reading and understanding and although this post may seem harsh, we are just trying to help save the lives of dogs who do NOT deserve any of this!

Rocco is urgently needing to find a new home. He is 10 yrs old and neutered. He is a tiny little staffie cross who is high energy still when out. He can be an anxious boy and needs a special home who can help him to gain confidence and relax.
Sadly his current owners are really struggling with caring for him as they had not realised how much time they would need to commit to him and as a result his and their anxiety is increasing.
He gets VERY over excited to meet and greet other dogs and as a can appear lead reactive.
He is not cat friendly and is looking for a lovely rural home with someone who has time to give this little older gent. No children or cats as he is not tested with either
He really is an adorable boy.
