When a police officer stops you for a search, Section 50(3) of the Nigeria Police Act, 2020 requires the officer to disclose the following:
His name and the name of the police station to which he is attached;
The object of the search; and
The grounds or authorisation for conducting the search.
Furthermore, Section 50(4) of the same Act provides that a police officer exercising the power to stop and search must be in uniform or visibly display a valid police identity card.
Know your rights. The law binds both the citizen and the police.

These 2 Hyundai Sonata models came with engines that were recalled by Hyundai because of a defect that affected over 1 Million units of the Sonatas.
The engines in these cars are a ticking time bomb of the recall hasn’t been properly treated.
The engines suffers oil starvation which makes the engine knock no matter how well you maintain it.
It’s quite unfortunate that about 90 percent of the cars we buy in Nigeria are foreign used cars with voided warranty and even when you buy brand new, there’s no way recalls can be treated.
This is why it is important to check if a car you trying to buy has any recall that might be worth watching out for.
