Let’s compare this performance with each state’s education spending per head in the same year.
With a N3,506 investment per head, Enugu ranked highest, with 93.9% performance. Bayelsa, which had the highest investment per head —N9,004—ranked 9th, with 86.38% performance.
Surprisingly, Ondo state had a 75.41% pass rate, despite having the lowest spending of N365.30 per head. Meanwhile, Zamfara, which spent N1,526 per head, had an abysmal 9.15% performance.
This begs the question, does a state's WAEC performance depend on its education investment?
