A person was arrested at their home in Olympia this evening and taken to the Thurston County Jail where they were questioned about a demonstration that occurred last night. They were quickly released after invoking their right to remain silent. (1/4)
Moments before Atlanta City Council voted to fund Cop City, they brought these guys into the chambers. Because their rule comes from their strength and not their legitimacy. We have plenty of legitimacy where they do not. Now it is time for us to be strong.
"Peace, nonviolence, & restraint" is the standard regular people are held to while the cops riot, murder a forest defender & lie about it, target peaceful activists in the city for arrest, slap them w/ bogus "terrorism" charges, & get caught on a police scanner bragging about it
After listening to over 12 hours of public comment against Cop City, City Council voted to fund Cop City by a vote of 11-4.
After community members left city hall, Councilman Matt Westmoreland made a point to stay and shake hands with Atlanta Police Officers.
