The Olympia jail phone at 360 359-1592 is off. We no longer have capacity to run an emergency line of this type, and have not found it necessary in recent months. If you would like to contact us please send an email to [email protected].
You can contact Olympia Jail Support at olympiabailfund (at) protonmail (dot) com if you have any questions or information about arrests, surveillance, or repression against protests or demonstrations in the Olympia area. (4/4)
A person was arrested at their home in Olympia this evening and taken to the Thurston County Jail where they were questioned about a demonstration that occurred last night. They were quickly released after invoking their right to remain silent. (1/4)
If you are contacted by law enforcement for any reason remember the magic words: "I am going to remain silent. I would like to speak to a lawyer." And then make sure to alert your community that the police are snooping! (3/4)
The authorities are hitting more forest defenders in Atlanta with blanket "domestic terrorism" charges. We need funds to handle bail and defense for this growing list of bogus cases. Don't let repression go unchallenged! Please donate and spread the word: https://t.co/hqE7O1vYkg
These arrests are a good reminder that shit can happen at any kind of event. Having an arrest plan with your crew beforehand helps make sure you're taken care of when the unexpected happens. https://t.co/sCkuLAhexe
If federal law enforcement ever tries to contact you by phone or IRL do not talk to them! Decline the convo and walk away. Tell your close people and contact the NLG federal defense hotline and a local anti-repression crew. Don't keep it secret, we are here to support each other.
We have confirmed the FBI agents visited three houses in Olympia this morning (10/20). If you are visited by federal agents don't talk to them or answer any questions and contact the NLG federal defense hotline at 2126792811.
Just a reminder that the jail phone is off but bail funds are still available. You can contact us via email olympiabailfund [at] protonmail [dot] com. Stay free out there.
Isaiah Update: We were expecting him to be released to a halfway house, but because of a combo of possible retribution and ineptitude, the BOP didn't file his halfway house paperwork. Until his release next month please send him letters at his new facility! #UprisingPrisoners
Important bill to track especially if you want to understand the multi faceted approach the state uses when attacking communities. Solidarity to the WA bailfunds in the crosshairs right now.
URGENT: A new bill in the WA Senate would create major barriers and extreme oversight for the work we do. SB 5779 has a hearing Mon @ 9:30 and we need your support to OPPOSE this bill. See chain below for action items.
If you’re trying to set up jail support for an action this thread has a lot of useful information and is a great place to start! And you can always email us with any questions
The biggest part of doing jail support is being there to make sure comrades don’t feel stranded or alone, and people can’t do this if they don’t know you're in jail. So successful jail support starts with making a plan with your friends. 2/16
Important update from Oly Jail Support. If you think you might need jail support sometime in the future def take them up on the offer of a consult on how to run your own! They know their shit and are an incredible resource in the region.
We may be able to reactivate the emergency jail support line for specific actions and events in the future, but we would be even happier to consult you on how to do effective jail support for events that you organize and share the knowledge we have learned.
