I don't want summer. I want perpetual early fall. 60-70°F days, cold nights. Some rain. Some sun. Windows open. Birds chirping, animals around. Forests full, lakes relaxing. Days not too short.
In Matthew chapter 21: Christ drove the money changers from the temple, crying, "You have turned the house of prayer into a den of thieves."
What do you think He would make of Trump and his pals?
Went to a little ice cream place in my neighborhood for a fun little treat.
Two ice cream sundaes
Seventeen dollars.
Just a window you order from, not even a sit down place.
And Boomers keep trying to convince us that life isn’t any different for us than it was for them
If I am in the wrong, I have no problem owning it and apologizing.
If you then act like a self-righteous asshole, I assure you that you will never receive another.
I waste neither time nor words on the less worthy.
Instacart: Order replacement, your shopper has replaced an item that is unavailable.
Me: I don't like that one, I want the other one. Hits replacement item.
Instacart: No further changes can be made. You lose. Womp womp.
HR: We lost our top candidate today.
CEO: What happened?
HR: He left before the interview even started.
CEO: Left? Why would he do that?
HR: His interview was scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
CEO: Okay.
HR: He arrived at 10:50 a.m.
CEO: Early. That sounds ideal.
HR: Yes. But when he got there, the interviewer was unavailable.
CEO: So what did we tell him?
HR: He was instructed to come back at 12:00 p.m.
CEO: That seems reasonable.
HR: He did not think so.
CEO: Why? It was only one hour.
HR: Because candidates get rejected here for arriving 5 minutes late.
CEO: That is different. Punctuality matters in interviews.
HR: According to him, it should matter for both sides.
CEO: We were offering him double his current salary.
HR: Yes. But salary was not the issue.
CEO: Then what was?
HR: He said hiring is a two-way process. And respect for time should not be negotiable.
CEO: He rejected the interview over that?
