@Tinky47flat@MImperioRacing@barshoelife@LisaLazarusCEO@hisa_us No need to be condescending. Yes, it did occur me. But then it ocurred to me that the investigative branch of HISA/HIWU hasn’t found anything beyond a bute positive and figured they aren’t taking this investigation as seriously as you give them credit for.
@Tinky47flat@MImperioRacing@barshoelife@LisaLazarusCEO@hisa_us Alternatively, HISA could say there's been no evidence to support an investigation, that the screen shots were manipulated and there's no reason to believe there has been a security breech. I think folks are just looking for even a modicum of transparency.
@Tinky47flat@MImperioRacing@barshoelife@LisaLazarusCEO@hisa_us I respectfully disagree. The public can be made aware that an investigation is underway before the culprit is identified. HISA's silence has only spurred increasingly pernicious rumors and conspiracy theories.
@Tinky47flat@MImperioRacing@barshoelife@LisaLazarusCEO@hisa_us I agree the narrative about selling to CAWs is a red herring, but in no way undermines the potential seriousness of a data breach. Can @hisa_us confirm whether this information is confidential? I can't imagine vet records being made public without the owner/trainer's consent.
@Tinky47flat@MImperioRacing@barshoelife@LisaLazarusCEO I am certainly not a high-tech expert, but it appears that someone has accessed confidential data and released it (either for fun or for money, probably the latter). @hisa_us could easily issue a press release: "We've been made aware of X. We are looking into it."
@raypaulick@GhostofSwiftH The trainer who opts not to report injections, shockwaves, etc., and does it anyway appears to be "clean," whereas the trainer who is compliant would be vilified by the public for over-medicating their horses.
@raypaulick@GhostofSwiftH Thank you for the response. I would add that including vet records in PPs creates a perverse incentive whereby trainers and vets don't put treatments into the HISA portal. That's already a major issue. HISA is operating on an "honor system," and its "audits" have no teeth.
@GhostofSwiftH In other words, this is a tactful way to deflect blame from HISA and repackage it as a call for transparency. Brilliant move, but hardly informative.
@pawluk_michael@GhostofSwiftH The difference is this information is confidential. Whether it’s being sold or there is a hack, it’s a massive breach of data privacy and will just incentivize horsemen to treat horses aggressively and not report it. There’s no doubt it’s coming from the HISA portal. @hisa_us
@hiscoraline Whoa whoa whoa. Are you saying that someone who says they can do math in their head can see the numbers? I read a lot of non-fiction and just hear my voice narrating. I thought that was normal 😅 Do other people’s brains come with a TV and mine just has a radio?
From the top of the U.S. Capitol to the turf at Laurel Park. 🇺🇸🏇
@KaliFrancois catches up with Graham Motion to discuss 𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗨𝗩𝗨𝗡𝗚𝗨 (𝗦𝗔𝗙), his lightning-fast contender in the Jim McKay Turf Sprint. Motion explains why the freshening after Dubai was just what the horse needed and why he expects a big effort at his home track.
(And yes, the wind was as strong as this horse's turn of foot. 🌬️⚡)
Big time thank you to Heather Smullen for helping us get Tut back this afternoon. She was informed about his candy addiction, and hopefully he’s heading home soon!
Also thanks to Doug and David Nunn for taking their time to try to help us. Great to see horsemen helping horses.
