2003年のスーパーGTシリーズはチーム GAIKOKUYAからエントリーしたPorsche 911 GT3RSをドライブした。このマシンには僕が開発していたスペシャルダンパーシステムを投入していたから、コーナーでの速さはポルシェらしからぬ高いスピードを維持することができていた。鈴鹿サーキットやスポーツランドSUGOなどコーナーが多くテクニカルで走りに自信とリズムを要求されるようなコースでは特に速く走ることができた。本来ポルシェが得意とする富士スピードウェイなどの高速コースではレギュレーションでエアリストリクターを絞られた影響が大きく、最高速だけでなく中間加速も鈍くなってしまったため戦力外といった感じでポルシェが持つ本来の実力とはかけ離れたリザルトしか残せなかったことが残念だった。でも開発したダンパーは素晴らしい仕上がりとなり、翌年はライバルチームも採用することになったのは嬉しかった。この年が大好きだった富士スピードウェイの大規模改修前の旧コースのラストシーズンだったから、レースのラストラップの最終コーナーを駆け抜けたときのことを今でもハッキリと覚えている。
