Looks like Kenyan small holder farmers are under attack again.

A new bill proposes to jail farmers for 3 years if they don't register with the government as an "Agricultural Professional".

"Agricultural professionals" are defined as anyone who engages in, among others, "agricultural practice", including crop or animal production.

The sponsor of the Agricultural Professionals Registration and Licensing Bill is Tigania West MP John Mutunga, says Business Daily.

Joyanne Maina, an 11-years old sign language interpreter wows a gathering of Christians where Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu was a chief guest. He was presiding over a fundraiser in aid of Nyamira Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She displayed her fluency in the skill that is not offered in many basic learning institutions in the country. Ironically, Joyanne learnt the sign language skills from Tanzania where she lived with her father, Pastor Evans Maina who is a minister in the Church in Nyamira for the last 10 years. She is a Grade Six pupil at Kenyenya Adventist Boarding Primary School.
