CBSE’s May 2025 tender required answer sheets to be scanned with automatic robotic scanners, spines preserved, at a minimum of 300 DPI.

The tender re-issued in August quietly removed all of it. “Scanners” became generic. Resolution dropped to 200 DPI.

Now we know what that meant in practice. It has been exposed that COEMPT scanned the answer sheets using mobile phones.

The blurred copies, the missing pages, the unscanned books - they are not “errors.” They are the predictable outcome of a contract written to fit a vendor.

This is fraud. And every child whose marks were wrongly evaluated is a victim of it.

This morning, the Prime Minister had time to speak about mangoes. He has not had time to speak about 18.5 lakh children whose answer sheets were scanned with phones.

Your OSM system gave us blurry, unreadable answer sheets. The revaluation portal has been crashing since day one payments failing repeatedly, students overcharged up to ₹2,07,000 and 1 lakh due to glitches, hackers attacking the site, endless delays and useless extensions. Lakhs of us failed in multiple subjects despite our hard work.

I just lost my close friend to this pain. He couldn't survive the heartbreak. Many more students are having severe breakdowns and attempting suicide. Families are shattered. Our dreams of JEE, NEET and college admissions are finished.

We are not numbers. We are your children.

Regime change should become normal every 5 years. People should vote out the ruling party after every term, no matter who is in power. Right now it’s the BJP, vote them out. After that, vote Congress out too if they fail. That cycle of accountability is what keeps a democracy healthy.

The problem starts when one party stays in power for too long. Leaders begin acting as if the country is their personal property and that they can never be removed. Slowly, accountability disappears. Whether it’s paper leaks, unemployment, rising taxes, corruption, poor infrastructure, or failures in governance they stop fearing public anger because they assume voters have no alternative.

We have already seen more than a decade of so called “stability” under Modi without any accountability. Any government that knows it can easily win again stops listening to ordinary people. That’s why governments should always have the fear of being voted out. Only then will they actually work seriously for the public instead of relying on speeches, PR, and emotional politics every election.

No party deserves permanent power in a democracy. The day politicians realize they can be thrown out anytime, that’s the day governance will start improving.
