@bluesky grew tremendously over the last year. Recently, the platform introduced “starter packs” (SP) to help users bootstrap their social graph. Anybody can create these SPs. They’re lists of accounts (e.g., “people creating anime”) that others can then follow.

Highlights:
- PANDAS supports Danksharding with 32 MB blobs and aims for a 4-second deadline for random sampling.
- The protocol involves two phases: Seeding and Row/Column Consolidation and Sampling.
- Resourceful builders distribute initial data samples to validator nodes, who then perform random sampling and data consolidation.
- PANDAS uses direct, point-to-point communication instead of a gossip-based approach to speed up the process.
- The system allows for flexible data distribution strategies, balancing between resource usage and data availability.
ELI5:
PANDAS is a new way to make sure data is available in Ethereum. It uses a special method to quickly check if data is there by breaking it into smaller pieces and having different computers check different parts. This helps make sure the data is available without using too many resources.
Save the date for this year's Science and Engineering of Consensus workshop, on the day before SBC'23!

Our paper (https://t.co/Otcj6AuAwf) on content censorship in @IPFS has been accepted at @NDSSSymposium!
We exploit an old, yet unsolved, DHT flaw allowing anyone to block any content hosted in the network.
Our mitigation and detection techniques are scheduled for deployment in the upcoming version of Kubo - the main @IPFS client.
