I had the privilege of providing academic support to the Turkish Delegation at the UN 6th Committee meetings on a possible CAH Treaty. I hope we were able to share our concerns in a constructive manner to serve much-needed consensus for the Convention to truly achieve its purpose
The world is changing. A global and skulking Suez Moment where the West appears unable to understand that yes, South Africa will take you to the ICJ, Brazil cannot be pressured into alignment with the West, and Guyana cannot be lectured on climate change by the BBC
I have rarely seen such a legally inaccurate piece. As if Karabakh was not occupied as is recognised by UNSC resolutions. As if Azebaijan did not liberate its de jure territory. As if Khojaly and countless mass atrocities did not happen. Law should not be blinded by fanaticism!
Returning the Azerbaijani villages under Armenia's illegal occupation since the early 1990s is not a 'concession' by any stretch of the imagination. The law is the law.
A stunning exchange in Berlin between Scholz and Anwar Ibrahim. We live in a new world. Germany just didn’t get the memo. The contrast in public speaking ability also striking
Dutch court finds “there is a clear risk that Israel’s F-35 fighter jets might be used in the commission of serious violations of international humanitarian law. Israel does not take sufficient account of the consequences of its attacks for the civilians” https://t.co/qHAWK5Ya71
It will be interesting to see how Western states and scholars contort themselves to defend the customary status of the "unwilling or unable test" now that an *entire continent* has explicitly rejected self-defence against non-attributable armed attacks by non-state actors.
Thank you @WSJ for publishing my Letter to Editor responding to Simon Maghakyan's misleading piece, which whitewashed #Armenia's destruction of #Azerbaijan's cultural heritage in the occupied territories, https://t.co/LDvtk5OB1i
@DrMelOB It's a load of bollocks; even more absurd if she took refuge in such a ridiculous justification under Israeli pressure. I genuinely hope she did it out of personal interest e.g. because if she wrote this ancient claim out of pure 'legal consideration', gosh, shameful!!!
Ukrayna v. Rusya'da gözünü kırpmadan bu yönde yetki aşımına giden ve Rusya aleyhine tüm operasyonların durmasına hükmeden Divan, burada yargı yetkisinin sınırlarını hatırladı, tedbiri sadece olası soykırım fiillerine ilişkin tuttu. Bu iki yüzlülük rahatsız edici bir dayanılmazlık
