@nimotophobia Yep, all the updater did was install the DLCs into the folder on your PC. It streamlined the process so you didn't have to manually download them and locate this folder.
Oh and y'all are fine doing this exact process when downloading CC and Mods btw

@kanstwt The crashout also shows how entitled the community has become. I located the folder the DLC installs into and guess what, the pirated DLCs added via Anadius' updater were also there and able to be removed! The updater simply made that step automatic so users didn't have to DIY it

@atheenador @goblinnadivane @xLOLxLOLxIRAJx @oliwiatiktik I used the Unlocker in conjunction with the Updater because that's the instructions I followed from Anadius...
Now the updater is simply replaced by a batch file that opens the folder where your DLC is installed, so you can manually place the downloaded files there.

@magicalbean_uwu @CamelliaahVT Least of all, updating their broken cc and mods as a new update or pack releases. They more than likely do not have early access of any kind, nor the time to implement such vital updates for their content upon the game being broken by another update. Some bugs won't even show yet

Players were nowhere near as toxic with Sims 3 as they are with Sims 4, especially towards modders and cc creators. Like, they all have actual lives that do not revolve around their creations, they owe you nothing

I remember seeing posts demanding that he have the time and connections to make sure the updater was ready to unlock packs on release day (for free), tbey had little patience for him and modders

@swiftspadme I haven't kept up with 4 but really wanted to go back and try some of the newer packs. Was there any notice of when the updater was gonna be taken down? I'd like to know if someone backed it up at all, even if it's from before the latest kits to release, like with the latest EP

@SimMattically One of my fave EPs, I love the puzzle solving aspect of tomb raiding. And have been meaning to use the nectar making skill in Monte Vista for an Italian vineyard. Yes, the main bulk doesn't fit seamlessly into everyday gameplay but some of the smaller featurea can like the skills
