Netflix’s Co-Founder Is Now Betting on Ukrainian Weapons
I can't say the other names I'm hearing but you might be surprised at who is jumping on the Ukraine drone investment train.
But this can be reported: @reedhastings, the Netflix co-founder, has joined UA1 VC's investment push into Ukrainian military innovation, according to Ukrainian presidential adviser @AKamyshin. Hastings has also donated to pro-Ukraine charity @OpWhiteStork, whose head of mission is a partner at UA1 along with Kamyshin.
The team was featured in @CBSNews / @60Minutes's excellent report on Ukraine's drone tech: https://t.co/xs1yZWhkr5
Instead of investing in Ukrainian battle-proven drone tech, others are choosing to invest in a drone startup led by the Trump sons who will use a Florida golf course for testing. It's no longer April Fools—yes this is real.

My President @ZelenskyyUa: “If every Ukrainian housewife can produce drones, then every Ukrainian housewife can be the CEO of Rheinmetall. And I welcome such a high level of the Ukrainian defense industry.”
This is the dismissive, antiquated, losing BS I was concerned about when I asked the German Defense Minister about budget allocations and Ukrainian innovation at the Munich Security Conference last month. Just spending more on defense doesn’t always defend you.
Texting this morning with one of Ukraine's top drone producers, Skyfall, and they have some thoughts about my interview with the Rheinmetall CEO, who said their drone factories are housewives with 3-D printers in the kitchen:
"If a drone made by Ukrainian 'housewives' is all it takes to take out tanks and artillery... I guess it's officially the 'housewives' era now."

Lt. Gen. Steven Whitney (US Space Force): “The most striking thing in Ukraine is the speed of innovation. New concepts are launched, tested, and constantly improved.”
This is a new model of defence. Built on speed, iteration and scale. The free world should #BuildWithUkraine
Last night Last night ruZZia bombed one of @OpWhiteStork's Invincibility Trains in Ukraine. Carriages for civilians that are there to provide food, warmth, electricity, and wifi are being targeted in order to terrorize and kill innocent people seeking shelter. Partners
'Dyakuyu' to Reed Hastings, former Netflix CEO, for a $5M donation to @OpWhiteStork on the anniversary of ruZZia's war in Ukraine. The funds will procure ruZZian drone discombobulators (anti-drone jammers) for Ukrainian combat medics. #WhiteStork#Ukraine https://t.co/s4m8tUiNiY
Today, in response to attacks that took out power & heat, Ukrainian Railways deployed 7 of our Invincibility Train Cars. 2 more will be active tomorrow. I hate that these are needed, but I’m glad we are able to provide some warmth, phone charging & a safe place for kids to go. 🇺🇦
Every day. Every damned day, and on the doorstep of the most powerful military alliance in the world, which has nice meetings and issues stern press releases.

In the Kyiv region, in a village in the Obukhiv district, a mother stork was killed by a Russian attack while covering her four chicks with her wings.
The chicks were taken down from the pole, and their mother was buried, Maryna Kochkina, a local resident, reported.
Another resident of the village, Svitlana, took in the stork chicks and received the necessary guidance on how to care for them.
Reed’s generosity is more than just a donation – it’s a powerful statement of solidarity with the people of Ukraine. He reminds the world that Ukraine does not stand alone in its fight against Russian aggression. https://t.co/iggyDjNeHt
Дякую! (thank you) to @reedhastings for his incredible support of Ukraine. Reed has donated $2M to White Stork to purchase anti-drone jamming systems for combat medics.
