At OA, we strive to meet people where they are with the tools they need. Our mission of accessibility, inclusivity, and decentralized, open source collaboration makes the choice to pivot to π¦an easy one. (1/2)
Guess what? That video with the absurdly mixed audio from Christmas Eve? It's updated, audible, and full of extremely timely holiday 2024 tidings. Spend a few minutes relaxing in 2024 nostalgia with us and hear about our open Source approach here at OA.

Happy Holidays from the team at OA! This xmas eve on our yt channel, we're chatting open source ethos, our love for the community, and... christmas pudding? Come for the debrief stay for the blooper reel -- or last week's CPC update πlink in bio π
Cool to see the OpenRespirator, and D2S tech we have been developing, get a some traction in the maker space. Thanks @hackaday for the write-up!

Excited to update everyone on OpenRespirator. First step was to build the tools to make a mask. We developed a toolset which allows prototyping in silicone and co-molded plastic for $30 with one time capital of $4K, and of course all open-source!

Itβs been a long road but we are so excited to share our progress on the worldβs first open source, low-cost, condensation particle counter! What is it and why should you care? @masknerd explains why this CPC is a BFD.

@jeffgilchrist@mpangch@masknerd OpenCPC has younger sibling under active development that is performing rather well in the lab :) https://t.co/eT4rNx5i5E
Almost 2 years ago (Dec 27, 2021) - I sent @masknerd an email suggesting that we develop an open source condensation particle counter (CPC) to enable low cost and accessible air quality monitoring and quantitative fit testing for all.
He said yes and we founded @OpenAeros.
@jljcolorado@RideRTD@jljcolorado I will have to leave the OpenCPC with you and you can measure ultrafines on your way back home π. Excited to see you talk at #AAAR23
It's not everyday you get to hang out with a bunch of other aerosol nerds, and it's a lot of fun to talk the nitty gritty of particle counters at #AAAR23 . It's also fun to do show and tell with the real thing, along with all the parts.
#opensourcehardware is the future!
Wow! What a great poster session at #AAAR23 where @masknerd got to present the latest on the OpenCPC. This isn't just all theoretical though, if you look close you can see the first OpenCPC in the wild, quietly measuring away.
2) NISOH must be excited too; we submitted what we've been working on to their fit test challenge and are among the Phase 1 winners! Read more here: https://t.co/TuwsBQen5t
We have 2 exciting pieces of news to share!
1) We've been hard at work developing a mask fit tester that pairs with our OpenCPC! Keep an eye out for more news in the coming months...AND....
