Blue state public schools: “We’re gonna need a LOT more money, resources, and time (in addition to the past year) to safely open schools.”
Private and red state schools: “We’ve been opened safely all year with basic protocols, maybe just try opening your doors and using those?”
@LA_StudentsDsrv@UTLAnow Amazing! My brother taught in an LAUSD high school while the students were rioting 15 years ago. What an awful idea to remove on campus police. #StayWoke
The only way we will get change is if we act. Holding signs and screaming hasn’t helped at all. It’s time we pull our kids off zoom and demand that the schools reopen. The schools are funded off attendance. So why are we continuing to have our children login?
As a parent, this pandemic has brought forth some incredible challenges.
This dad has had enough, we all have. No real metrics to safely open the schools, while the SB continues to kick the can further down the road. Many parents feel just as he does. #LCPS#openschools
@PSUSD Also @PSUSD cut the children off for small groups 2 days a week. Small group time is when my children actually get to communicate with their peers and it’s being eliminated. This is a joke. Was this another thing you bowed down to the union on? @psusdsupt
@PSUSD@MyDesert@psusdsupt@PSUSD be upfront with parents. You will keep the schools closed the entire school year. You are already pushing it out till spring break
@PSUSD@DesertSandsUSD@CVUnified so you’re getting the funding you wanted. Can you commit to parents that schools will be opened ASAP and there will not be anymore delay?
Calling on @psusdsupt to please commit to all parents that the waiver will be signed this next time around so the ENTIRE school year will not be compromised. @KESQ@MyDesert@NBCPalmSprings
We are calling on @PSUSD to commit to opening schools as soon as allowed to do so. When Riverside County was in the red tier a few months back they failed to sign the waiver to reopen while every private school in the Coachella Valley did. All kids matter.
"Parents unhappy with distance learning are taking increasingly vocal roles in calling for more in-person instruction through grassroots organizing and legal challenges."
We sure are!

@rmbodenheimer Also the state is about to locked down but schools that applied for the waiver can still operate. My neighbors kids get to go to private school while my kids are muted in our home. Thanks @psusd
@rmbodenheimer In my school district they had a chance to open in August with a waiver while in the CA red tier but they failed to do so while all the private schools applied for the waiver. Now we are back in purple and it’s too late
