I used to be a moderate who only voted in presidential elections (for Dems), watched trash TV when kids in bed, and thought Twitter only for celebrities.
Now I’m an election obsessed radicalized Republican who stays up all night angrily tweeting at @rweingarten#openschools
Memo to @EricAdamsforNYC, @andrewcuomo, and @CurtisSliwa:
You don’t all have to win—but if Zohran Mamdani does, you’ll all be remembered as the egos who handed New York City to socialism. Two of you need to drop out. Now.
History rewards those who save the city—not those who watched it burn over personal ambition.
Cuomo and Sliwa have to drop out and rally around Eric Adams. It’s the only hope.
Nate Silver:
“It helps [Mamdani] that Adams, Cuomo and Sliwa will all be running on similar law-and-order themes. …Polymarket gives Mamdani a 75 percent chance of winning the general, with Adams getting most of the rest of the pie.”

In Newton, MA, a few moms, all Democrats, began questioning school policy that abandoned honors-track classes.
They were painted as right-wing racists opposing “equity”.
Now, local teachers are pushing back on the same detracking experiment, saying it didn’t work for anyone.
Whew, this story.
So many themes remind me of my experiences advocating for school reopening with a bunch of mostly-Democrat moms in blue regions.
the pasadena humane society is currently at full capacity with animals from the fires but low stock. please share the link and donate if you can to help <3

This article, months in the writing, and just posted this morning already has a title change. Calling Manhattan moms like me “right wing” because I want my children’s public schools to be rigorous, open, mask-free, & respectful of girls is why former Dems like me left the left.
This is a map of the shift to Trump in NYC.
The surge didn’t happen in places like the Upper West Side or Park Slope.
It happened in Washington Heights, the West Bronx, Flushing, Richmond Hill, Bensonhurst—working class communities of color. 1/2
A lot of people ask why it takes California so long to count ballots. I ran for office in 2022 and I learned a lot about how this happens. Let me explain: 🧵
How has the President of the United States not said a word in over an hour when a former president and current republican nominee just survived an assassination attempt? WHERE IS @JoeBiden#Trump#biden
The presidential debate was awful for Joe Biden, but the cover-up has been worse. The dishonesty of his campaign provokes contempt. He must withdraw https://t.co/RijgS4gDI2
In NYC, the 6' distance rule - which in schools was 8', because we had super science - kept kids on a 2 days live, 3 days remote sched from Sept 2020 to April 2021, when The Science™️ changed & we switched to 3' distance.
My then-6 yo will be happy to learn it was all made up.
